Used and in very good condition. 7-1/4" Tweezers Hand Clamp for delicate work and for small screws and parts. Modified Angled Reverse Action Tweezers. This tool is made from a high-quality squeeze-to-open tweezers (angled reverse action tweezers), and spring steel slotted blades. Note that the blades are very securely cemented on using epoxy/steel cement (can be used in water, but avoid using with high heat). Blades are angled about 20 degrees, and can be used pointing up, pointing down or pointing sideways. Handles are insulated wood or plastic for greater comfort and electrical insulation and thermal insulation. We find these special modified tweezers great for securely handling and working on small, valuable objects and collectibles you don't want to handle with your bare fingers (e.g. gems, jewels, coins, stamps, paper money, collection insects, small fossils, and small parts). Great for collectors, jewelers, watch and clock repairers, electronic engineers, electronic technicians, craft people, modelers, forensic examiners, paleontologists, archaeologists, botanists, biologists. The held parts may be held, moved, positioned and/or worked on using this special tool.

We find one particular use especially valuable to us: With this tool, you can much more easily and securely start and remove small screws - virtually eliminating dropping or losing small screws and other irreplaceable or costly small parts. To start a screw, you simply place the screw head between the blades. Then you position the screw over the screw hole using the tool. Then you use a small screw driver to turn the screw head between the top blade slot until the screw firmly catches, then slide the tool off the screw, then screw all the way down. To remove a small screw, you unscrew the screw until you can snugly slip the tool blades under and over the screw head. Then, with the screw now secured by the tool, you continue unscrewing through the top blades slot until screw is removed. You then securely deposit the removed screw.

Our method is when we need a cable tie from an unopened bubble, we just cut a small slit at the top of that bubble and remove the cable tie. The primary thing that makes any cable tie age and become brittle is exposure to air. If you keep cable ties in a box or jar, they will be exposed to much air and everytime you open it, all its cable ties will be exposed to more air, and in a year or so, the cable ties will likely dry up, become brittle and worthless. Using our method, minimal air is inside the bubble at all times, and the bubbles also protect them from exposures to water, dirt, grease, oils, chemicals. With this package, zip ties are highly visible so you can easily determine which ones are ideal for each of your needs. We bought a lot of these clamps, some of which we use in our shops and labs. We have found these types of clamps/vises so useful in so many different ways, some of which are shown in the images. For example, we use two clamp/vises to firmly grip an object for sawing with a band saw or grinding with a grinder for minimal exposure of your hands to the blade/grinder, maximum smoothness of cut/grind and minimal blade binding. If you want to improve the tool's gripping abilities or to better handle especially delicate Items or better electrically and/or thermally insulate the tool's fingers, you can put heat shrink tubing or rubber tubing (we prefer common clear neoprene hose pieces, see two images above) onto the tool's fingers, or dip the fingers into a can of liquid rubberized tool handle coating (eg: Plasti Dip). While rubber tubing and coatings are softer, shrink tubes are much better under heat and as an electrical insulator.

          NOTE #1: This is a re-purposed clamping-type device. While it works great for many jobs - we often use these types of clamps/vises in our shops, labs, and kitchens for many different functions - we do not know what its original use or purpose was for. Just like dental picks - originally intended only for cleaning teeth - now have virtually unlimited uses by many other professions, trades, crafts and hobbies, this clamp/vise is very useful far beyond any original purpose it was designed for. In fact, we find that there are many jobs we do where no other clamp or vise will properly grip, hold or position the object. It is high-quality stainless steel (highly resistant to corrosion), and should fit into all kinds of jobs, especially where purity and cleanliness are critical. You can autoclave this clamp/vise.

Great for transmitting, receiving and/or testing for signals and voltages, for antennas, 9-volt radio batteries, terminal blocks, screw terminals, post terminals and other connectors. All kinds of other practical holding uses from clothes (i.e. clothes pins), to holding canvas/tarps/tents/covers, and as workholding and toolholding clamps. And as clamps even for holding rods, tubes and some lab glassware. Second image is to show one very good use: The fast testing of 9 volt batteries (also very useful for charging rechargeable 9 volt batteries, and for connecting up 9 volt batteries to loads). These antenna clips can also be used as a switch or trigger: Place a piece of metal in the jaws to complete circuit, then pull metal out to break the connection to trigger. And you can wire the two of these clips together to make a very handy two-wire jumper cable to fit your particular needs.

Each side of the clip is a separate steel conductor. Each of these conductors have both a screw terminal (for male spade and eye lugs and bare wire), and a rear tab for female spade lugs and solder connections. Used and in very good condition. Rare Steel Globemaster Reel Tool, No. 62020, with unmarked spring steel tape (end has a spring with a brass ball at the end), 6" dia, 1/4" thick disk body. We are not sure what this device was primarily designed for. We believe that it is an Electrician's Cable Puller Tool also commonly known as a Leader Puller / Feeder Puller and Fish Tape, and what we used it for. But we were told by one person that it was used to measure the depths of lakes, rivers and wells, and of holes in the earth. And another told us that it was used as a Plumber's Snake to unplug stopped-up toilets, which seems like a reasonable use because sewer line tapes that don't have a ball at the end can severely scratch up toilet bowl porcelain. However, the spring has no rust or even discoloration on it, nor does it smell of anything that we can detect, indicating that if exposed to water, it was done seldom, or the water was clean water and the spring dried afterwards. This device could be adapted for other uses. If you know the actual intended use of this device, please freely let us know. In the 3rd image, reel is shown resting in a vise; the vise is not included but used for posing. This is both a great tool and a great tool collectible. Made in Japan. This Globemaster tool was made back in the day when Japan produced most of our imports, and Chinese imports were virtually unknown.

These Griplier locking pliers are stamped with: "The 'Third Hand' for Small Assemblies". The "gun site" like structure at the top is the lever that you push forward with your thumb to lock these XACTO pliers, causing it to hold tightly onto the object of interest. You push it back to unlock. These extremely rare Griplier pliers make an absolutely wonderful collectible for collectors of tools in general, pliers in general, locking pliers, clamping tools or locking tools, XACTO tools, electronic tools, craft tools, modeling tools, etc. - your collection is not complete without THIS very rare XACTO Lock Griplier Pliers. Used and in excellent condition. Rare versatile handheld Pinch Clamp / Gripper Clamp. This hand held pinch vise or pinch clamp tool was made from a rare antique tool (no parts of the antique tool are missing or modified). Pinch clamp opens between 0" to about 5/16" to hold any object within that thickness range (if bigger gap is needed, simply use a longer thumb screw). Its two washers have rubber pads on them to not mar your held objects. You can easily remove these two washers and substitute with washers with or without rubber pads (e.g. to solder or heat the held object or to dip it into chemicals) - bigger washers, smaller washers, oval washers, rectangular washers, and other odd-shaped and odd-type washers or extensions you can make or buy to customize this tool for your particular needs. Washers and extensions can be made of metal, wood, plastic, hard rubber or composite materials. You can also stack on more than two washers or extensions to hold multi-layer / laminated objects, and mulitple objects of same or different types or thicknesses. You can also use the pinch clamp to hold a cutter wheel(s) or blade(s), sanding wheel(s) or grinding wheel(s) to cut, scrape, grind, smooth or shape your work. And it is also great as a tool extension for small tools.

The pinch clamp itself can be held in the hand or by a vise (soft-jaw vise preferred) or larger clamp. We prefer to hold the pinch clamp using a laboratory clamp / holder (talon clamp or extension clamp), of the 3-prong clamp or round jaw clamp type to easily and securely hold and position it at any angle and maneuver it with ease hands-free.

This pinch clamp can also be used as a fish fly-tying vise tool (fly-tying clamp / fly-tying holder / fly-tying gripper) to grip your hooks and other small parts. And it can also be used to hold or grip just about any small object (including small tools to work on the tools or as tool extensions). One image shows it gripping a few pages of paper, the other image shows it gripping a 36" long wood ruler between its two washers, securely clamped down using the thumb screw so that you can securely work on the object without touching it with your fingers. Most commonly used in an aircraft applications with "hi-loc" bolts (allen holders used to to secure bottom of the bolt as you tighten down the nut). Body is made of hard plastic. Front end has a machined steel bit holder / mill holder / mandrel / chuck / collet which securely holds the 0.050" Allen bit using a hex set screw. Bit can be slid in and out (handle center is a hollow tube, open to the back, about 3/16" dia) so that the exposed business end can vary any length from all the way in to about 3-1/2" (much longer if you can allow some of the bit to extend beyond the back of the tool). This tool is not limited to Allen bits. It can also be used with small diameter drills, picks, awls, hooks, pokers, wires, etc. Also, with care, you can drill out the bit holder hole to any size up to 1/8+" dia. for larger bits. You can also feed in longer bits through the rear end, and use the tool handle as a rotating tool guide. 0.050" Allen set screws is a standard, common size used in electronics, popular for securing small knobs, as well as for other objects that use small Allen screws. Function is similar to pin vises, except that these drivers have a much more comfortable handle and you can use much longer bits than typical pin vises. Also, you can cap the tool's rear end with a plastic cap (not provided) to use the hollow center to store additional bits for multi-tool uses. These Allen drivers came off of an assembly line operation, which went out of business.

Rare, Vintage Vigor Pliers Parallel Pliers Tool, with Fiber-Lined Jaws - great for Jewelry, Gems, Eyeglass Frames, Dental, Clocks, Watches, Craft, Model Making, Fossils, anything else that just can't damage due to bare metal contact. First, these special very high quality Vigor Pliers jaws are line with a tough fiber (not cheezy nylon, plastic, rubber or wood), both jaws, so that you can still apply substantial gripping and holding force on objects you are working with while minimizing or avoiding scratching, marring, gouging, scarring, crushing or disfiguring them - the common tool marks left by steel pliers. Second, the jaws are parallel, which means that the jaws close down on objects evenly, and not at an angle that varies as the jaws close (most pliers), thus further minimizing slippage, crushing or disfiguring problems. The fiber also electrically insulates and thermally insulates the tool from the object, thus resulting in less heat, shock and sparking problems which are common to steel pliers. While replacing a fiber pad should be rare, it is not difficult - you just pry off the old pad, clean up the jaw surface with a wire brush, cut out another pad to the size, shape, type of material of your liking, then cement new jaw pad on.

Used and works excellently. Wilde Grip & Pull Pliers / Spreader / Separator. These separator / spreader pliers are great! Primarily used to remove one object from inside another object (e.g. a wire, rod, tube or pipe inserted inside of a larger one). You simply place the two objects into the jaws of the pliers, then squeeze the handles. The pliers first grips tightly and uniformly around each object as its jaws close. Then, as you squeeze more on the handles, the jaws steadily pull apart, smoothly and steadily removing the gripped smaller object from the gripped larger object. Used and in very good condition. Elastrator Elastic Band Expander, Rubber Band Expander. Commonly sold as a Veterinary Castration Tool. For elastic bands 1/4" - 2-1/4" diameter. This Elastrator tool is unbeatable for expanding out heavy-duty elastic bands. We bought two, are keeping one and selling this one. Tiewraps are usually not optimum for bind groups of bundled objects in which one or more objects is not in direct contact with the tie wrap, thereby tending to slip out from the middle of the bundle. With an elastic band, the elastic pressure pushes the bundle tightly together, thereby minimizing slippage even in bundles consisting of dozens of individual objects. Even for ordinary store-bought rubber bands, this Elastrator Elastic Band Expander tool is a big advantage because you can expand and place the elastic band with just one hand using this tool while you grip and place the object or bundle to be banded with your other hand. And heavy elastic bands are difficult to expand with your hands, requiring both hands to expand, and can snap out of your grip producing a bad sting or flying off some great distance. Where does one get heavy-duty elastic bands? We've seen them commercially sold (most commonly as Elastrator Bands, Qty 100 for $15-$20), but what we do is buy from a bike shop (for $1-$3 each) discarded heavy-duty bike tubes but still in mostly very good condition (bike tubes come in various wheel diameter and tube diameter sizes), then we cut them into 100-200 bands of various widths. These bike tube rubber bands hold on much more securely than ordinary rubber bands, and last perhaps 10 times longer. Our main use for them is for bundling-up tubes of ICs, and also for bundling-up metal tubing and other metal stock, hoses, dowel rods, wires and cables, long screws and bolts, electronic parts (e.g. antennas), tool accessories with their tools, and tools with related tools, etc. Can also be used for bundling such things as flower arrangements, eating utensils, school supplies, craft items, closing non-zip type bags, etc.

This is a versatile multiple-use pliers complete with a built-in punch / connector crimper, wide cutters, and wire stripper, as well as its powerful normal gripping function. While in like-new conditions, both the upper and lower cutter blades are replaceable. These Dielectric parallel jaw pliers are 8-1/2" long, husky, and industrial grade - built for those really tough jobs. The really nice thing about parallel jaw pliers is that the jaws close evenly on the gripped object, as opposed to the "V" jaw openings of standard pliers, which interferes with gripping ability because gripped objects tend to slip out of the "V" grip (especially nuts). Also, because the jaws are square and parallel to each other, you can use these parallel pliers jaws as a line spacing tool and as a small square, and even (forbid) as a light-work hammer. Rare and Versatile Frame Square Fillet Trim Cutter / Chopper / 90-Degree Notcher Corner Punch Tool. Except for yellow plastic handle cover, all parts are made of metal. Four 1/4" dia. holes allows for secure mounting to work table or work bench surface. Its handle provides excellent leverage, requiring less force for great cuts through tough materials. Steel blades can be easily removed to be sharpened or replaced as needed (they are very sharp right now, so be careful). Many versatile uses for the crafts person, picture framer, school uses, photography uses, scrapbookers, modelers, and general shop uses. Cuts soft woods, soft plastics, soft metals, leather, rubber, cardstock, paper, metal foils and similar materials, up to about 5/16" thick for full cut. Great Tools for Watchmakers, Watch / Clock Repairers, Jewelers, Crafters, Model Makers, Electronic Technicians, Electrical Engineers, Small Machine Shops, Gunsmiths, Displays, Exhibits. Jaws open 1/2" (0" if you remove the springs) to 1-5/8". Jaws are 1-3/4" wide, and 1/2" from top of rails to top of jaws. While jaws have grooves in them for holding watches and similar objects, the jaws will also hold flat pieces. The jaws are easily reversed by loosening the jaw assembly from its adjustment screw, sliding it off of its rails, rotating the jaw assembly 180 degrees, sliding it back onto the rails, and then turning the adjustment screw until again threaded into the jaw assembly. Our 4th image shows one of the vises with the jaw assembly reversed.

IDENTICAL VISE PAIR IS CRITICAL: Pliers, clamps and vises are much more useful and valuable when obtained in matched pairs. For many vise types and sizes, you need at least two identical vises because you often run into situations where you need more than one vise to best handle an object so that the object is being held securely, with uniform gripping force, closely level or aligned, in the same way and with the same feel for each gripping and holding tool. Let's say you need to cut a piece from the end of a steel rod. Most people clamp the steel rod into a vise, put it on the saw table and cut the rod's end protruding and dangling from the vise like a fishing pole. The problem is that the unsupported protruding rod end, when hit with the saw blade, will wildly vibrate. While this vibration is usually small and often hard to observe, it is forceful and often with great enough displacement and force to grab and misallign the saw blade, resulting in vibration, a rough cut, more chances that the saw blade will bind and unravel from its pullies, more wear and tear on the blade, and a much slower and hotter cut. But with two identical vises, you clamp the free end of the rod with the second vise and cut the rod between the vises, thereby eliminating 95+% of this vibration. There is a world of difference in how much faster, cleaner and more precise your cuts are, and how much longer your saw blades last, and the reduction in blade heating, binding and unraveling. We know, because we have conducted numerous cutting experiments. Also, with identical vises, you can best work on longer objects suspended between the two vises, whether that work involves cutting, drilling, grinding, filing, carving, shaping, painting, cementing, soldering, brazing, etc. And matched vises are better for exhibiting or displaying longer objects, signs and posters both for holding and positioning the object and for appearance.

We are not sure who made this, likely RCBS. Also could be Lee, Lyman, Hornady, Pacific, Redding or other. Commonly referred to as a "drum" or "rotor". Formally referred to as a "gun powder measuring cylinder assembly". Appears to be large size. If RCBS, the RCBS Uniflow Powder Measure is a solidly constructed powder measure that throws consistently accurate and repeatable powder charges. This small cylinder assembly is useful for ammo reloaders who are throwing small powder charges and will convert the standard Uniflow Powder Measure into a Small Capacity gun powder unit. Measuring cylinder has precision ground surfaces and slides into honed main castings (main casting not included) for precision fits. The cylinder will work equally well with flake, ball, and extruded gun powders.

This ammo reloading device is not limited for ammunition reloading uses. It can also precisely measure and dispense many other types of powders of all different types and uses. And it can be manually used without the main casting it is often used with - much more portable that way.

This elastic band expansion tool is ideal for expanding, placing and removing strong elastic bands such as our bicycle tube bands. This the ideal tool for elastic band uses - requires only one hand to expand the band while your other hand holds and positions the object - easy, fast and efficient elastic band installations. While there are variations between these lucite tools, their functions appear to be identical. Each has two adjustable back feet, with a ball bearing at the end of each foot for easy scuff-free manuevering on sensitive surfaces, such as paper, plastic sheeting, plexiglas, glass, vinyl, leather, naugahyde and wood veneer. At the front end is an adjustable pointed cutter or stylus. These lucite tools were made of lucite so that the underlying map or document could be viewed through the tool for faster and more efficient positioning.
We were emailed that these lucite tools were used in cartography (map making). They placed over a base map a clear mylar sheet which was coated with orange or red translucent paint (map was visible thru the coated plastic mylar). The lucite tool with its sharp cutter was placed on the coated mylar sheet, and then moved along where one wanted a line or border, cutting the mylar to make a handmade negative of the relevant underlying map area. After all relevant lines were cut, the resulting map negative was contact printed as part of a mapping project. Other coated mylar could have windows cut out of them using this lucite tool - the part that one wanted to view the map or document thru or print, while obscuring the rest of the map or document, was peeled off to make a window. In this case, the cutter was used to go around and cut the outside edge of the window. Clearly, this precision professional tool could also be used for many projects involving the cutting of paper, cardstock or plastic sheet, ranging from cutting out or tracing images of favorite celebrities in magazines, paper dolls, signs, editing photographs, etc. Can also be used as an engraving tool or outlining tool, scoring tool, and for making cut lines, break lines and tear lines (e.g. cutting out gaskets). This lucite tool can probably be modified to replace the cutter with a pen or pencil.

Because these points are independently adjusted makes this holder much better for holding odd-shaped objects. The arms which end in the top points curl down so that they do not interfere with relatively long rods and tubes held by the contact points. Without the shell, you might erroneously believe that this tool is useless. Not true. With the shell, this tool is pretty much limited to almost perfectly round objects. However, without the shell, it can be easily modified to grab, grip, hold, clamp, remove, replace, position and display items which are not round but oval and even odd-shaped. Here is how we do this: We cut two strips of 1" bike inner tube about 1/2" wide from an old bike tube. We then place one of these bike tube "rubber bands" around the "knees" of the tynes. This closes the tynes. We then work the tynes around the object to be held. Once the object is optimally held, we may place the second bike tube rubber band around the first rubber band to add greater tyne gripping strength, if needed (bike tube rubber bands not included). Therefore, using our shell-less rubber band method, this "watch tool" can be used on a much wider variety of object shapes than only round shapes this tool is limited to if with a shell.

Of course, if you have or can make a spare shell, you can always restore this tool to original function.

Rim and tire widths are given in both inches and tire sizes. Expands up to vehicle Tire Size 14 (14 inches). Image shows it is collapsed down to its smallest size (Tire Size 8). Tire widths are measured using the bottom tynes (outside measurement), and inside rim widths are measured without the tire using the top tynes. It is difficult to accurately measure rim and tire widths any other way, including with other types of calipers and gauges. With this simple, sturdy, accurate special caliper, you simply expand it out, rest the flat surface on the surface of the tire tread, then collapse it down until the tire tynes press against the tire walls, then view the measurment. For vehicle rims, you simply collapse the tire caliper down, insert the rim tynes inside the rim, then expand it out until the rim tyne points come into contact with the inside of the rim, then view the measurement. Great for switching out tires and/or rims, and for aligning and balancing tires. This inside/outside caliper tool has many other uses as well, including general shop use, carpentry caliper and construction caliper uses, manufacturing plant, farm and ranch.

GREAT ADVANTAGES: The Maestro Clamp-All System M1201advantages are:
       (1) No other clamp except these clamps will clamp objects together which are angled to each other, for example, the front and side of a drawer or other piece of furniture.
       (2) No other clamp except these clamps will clamp objects together where the opposing clamp spaces are even slightly misaligned with each other and/or very small in size. These Maestro clamps require less than a 1/8" x 1/8" clearance space on both sides of the clamped objects, and they don't even have to be opposite to each other. This is NOT the clearly more common No. 702 Ace Stapler Pliers which uses the No. 70001 staples (of which we have and use about a half-dozen of), but the No. 702 that uses the No. 700 staples (apparently, the same staples but with an older number; there are minor physical differences between the two staplers but they don't apparently affect the staples used). These staples are truly distinctive and very classy - as far as we know - ACE was the only one who made staplers that used these "undulated staples" (wavy staples). Whatever you staple stands apart from everything else anyone else has submitted alongside what you submitted. We have had people call us on the phone and ask us what in the world we use as a stapler and how can they get a stapler just like mine. This No. 702 Ace Clipper, however, is apparently so rare - in all my years of looking - this is the only one We have ever found - so We are not selling it cheap. New. This is an unmarked solid 1/2" stainless steel rod or bar that can be used for many applications. We do not know what its original function is but it probably was used in some scientific laboratory application. On one end, the rod is machined flat on top and left side, flat spots are about 1-1/4" long and 3/16" wide. On the other end, secured with two set screws is a 3/4" steel fitting 1-7/16" long. At the end of the square piece are 4 machined screw holes, 1/2" apart, and appear to be for 4-40 machine screws (screws not included). This is a nice set up because the rod can be secured with a lab stand clamp, and then work piece or tool can be clamped to the square end using any number of conventional clamps, vises, vise grips, etc. And the rod end can be used to securely clamp a variety of pullies, motorized drives, etc.

This sale is for stainless steel Pakosnap weighted photo clips with the weight that fits inside or outside of the clip. This clip is perfect for hanging film (roll or sheet) or for hanging or stretching any other kind of sheet material (1/4" thick or less in thickness) its strong grip will hold to prevent curl. The advantage of weighted photo clips over the unweighted ones, is that if curl is a problem, the unweighted clips require attachment to external weights or springs to provide the necessary stretching force. The weight can be easily switched from the inside to the outside and vice-versa, by removing the hinged front end of the clip and slipping the weight On or Off, and then snapping the front end back into place. We prefer the weights inside the clips because the weight can then be easily slid forward as a wedge to lock the clip in the closed or locked position to hold greater loads and then easily pulled back to permit release of the clip.

This kind of clamping action is similar to a very clever tool made and used by American Indian jewelry makers and silversmiths (i.e. ring clamps / wedge clamps) to quickly, securely and very comfortably hold and position jewelry, gems and metal pieces they are working on without damaging or marring the pieces. Their wooden ring clamp tool consists of two pieces of hardwood (today, they are also made from plastic and metal), each about the shape and size of a hotdog bun half - at least one end, and sometimes both ends, has a leather, rubber or plastic cover on it. The two pieces are connected to each other (flat sides facing each other) about in the middle by a pivot so that one board acts like a seesaw on top of the other board with a 1" - 2" maximum end opening or "mouth" at one end when the other end is pinched closed. The work piece is placed in the mouth of one end with the leather/rubber/plastic cover, and then a wedge is shoved into the other end forcing the mouth end to snugly close onto and secure the jewelry piece or other object into place. The amount of force used to insert the wedge dictates the amount of "bite force" the mouth end applies on the work piece being worked on. The wedge end is held by the crafts person.

In fact, the wedge-shaped weights of these Pakosnap clips actually make ideal wedges for ring clamp jewelry tools (which anyone can easily make from 1" or greater diameter dowel wood). The weights also make nice fishing weights as well, as well as smooth and comfortable weighted grips for the ends if small rope, cable, string, chains and fishing nets. New. Professional, instrumentation-quality 5/8" thick, 40" long flexible goose neck extension / holder / shaft. Much stiffer and longer than standard gooseneck flexible shafts you find on lamps. Has an instrumentation clamp at the end. One end of the gooseneck is a 5/8", 2" long dia. solid stem. The other end has a clamshell type clamp, outer dia. is 1.5" and hole is 0.5", hole is perpendicular to gooseneck shaft. This clamp has two screws at the top; when you remove them, the top semicircle part comes off. You can then place on the bottom half hole a 0.5" or so dia. pipe, tube or rod, and then place and screw the top part back on. Or if you wish, you can just simply bolt right throught the hole what you need to attach to the gooseneck. This clamshell type clamp stiffly rotates independently of the rest of the gooseneck. Of course, either end can be modified to suit your particular needs.

This is the best quality, stiffest gooseneck we 've ever run into. If your load is particularly heavy (5+ lbs), you can easily much increase shaft stiffening by putting heat shrink tubing or even lawn hose over all or part of the shaft (for hose, slit it down the middle its entire length, then work it onto the shaft, then tape or cement the seam closed).

Great for shop, office, scientific laboratory, crafts, sewing, band / orchestra, model-making, robotics, etc. operations! This gooseneck flexible extension can be used to control the position of a mike, tool (e.g. power drill / grinder / polisher, such as Dremel equipment), magnifying glass, microscope, test equipment, lamp, camera, mirror, reference book, phone, small computer or display, monitoring device, parts supply bin, soldering iron, cup holder, etc. that you need immediate or convenient access to but don't want it cluttering up your desk or shelf. Should much increase your capability and efficiency. The cheapo commercial lamp-top goosenecks are a very poor and unsatisfactory substitute for most practical applications of goosenecks (even when stiff enough for light loads, cheapo commercial goosenecks are usually too short). These industrial-grade goosenecks are not commonly available, and usually much more costly than the cheapo ones.

New, hard copy or eBook. V-Blocks are invaluable tools, mostly used by mechanics and machinists, but with many other great uses. Most V-Blocks are made to securely hold round pipes, tubes, rods, hoses, cables, and other round stock or parts to be drilled, cut, ground, milled, punched, reamed, polished, welded, brazed, soldered, sculptured, painted, decorated, etc. so that these operations can be done very steadily and precisely. Doing these same operations by dangling the stock or other object off of the end of a vise or clamp generally leads to much cruder results as the worked-on object will likely vibrate or bend some and more likely even slip or be marred while being worked on. V-Blocks are not limited to holding and securing round objects. Square and rectangular stock and other objects can also be used, depending on the intended operation. And odd-shaped objects can be used as well - just as long as they fit and are secured onto the V-Block. We have even used V-Blocks to mount small motors. While securing stock and other objects for machining operations is the most common uses of V-Blocks, V-Blocks have many other practical uses, for examples, for displays of collectibles or items for sale, holding ice cores and rock cores, working on fossils, rocks and minerals, holding sports equipment (e.g. baseball bats, fishing rods), holding motors and generators, for storage containers, for book and magazine holders, for holding, positioning and guiding sliding or rotating rods, pipes, tubes, hoses, cables, shafts and tools, and as troughs. And a V-Block inverted-mounted on top of another V-Block to form a square tube can serve as a sturdy container, guide or bushing.
Commercial V-Blocks are milled out of hard steel using ultra costly milling machines, are considered to be precision tools, don't come in many variations, and are very costly (not good in these harder economic times). Custom making your own V-Blocks is a great idea because you can make V-Blocks which best suit YOUR particular V-Block needs. This manual describes fast, easy and cheap methods to fabricate V-Blocks (also referred to as "Vee Blocks"), as well as W-Blocks (also referred to as "Wee Blocks") and X-Blocks, which do NOT require a milling machine. The only material cutting tool required is one which will cut the materials you choose for your V-Blocks, usually a bandsaw or hacksaw. Both W-Blocks and X-Blocks are essentially multiple V-Bocks, all being collectively referred to as V-Blocks, so our same methods easily apply to W-Blocks and X-Blocks as well (a W-Block is a V-Block with two "V" notches on at least one side, a X-Block is a 4-sided V-block with a "X" cross-section). And don't sweat trying to buy V-Block clamps - our manual describes 3 other common tool types which are usually much cheaper and commonly available than commercial V-Block clamps for both your custom made and store-bought V-Blocks. While V-Blocks are almost always made of iron or aluminum (or some alloy of either), our methods do not limit possible materials to iron and aluminum and alloys of either; in fact V-Blocks can also be made from brass, copper, nickel, bronze, plastic, wood, cardboard, compressed paper, ceramic, etc. using our methods described in this manual. Manual is illustrated with lots of tips. This book is short and to the point because our methods are relatively simple and easy to do.
