BETTER THAN 1N4004, 1N4184/1N914 RECTIFIERS/DIODES

New old stock (NOS) SF16 400-volt, 1-amp (30-amp surge current) superfast, low-Vf rectifiers/diodes - much better than 1N4004 400V, 1A rectifiers - much better than 1N4148/1N914 100V, 150ma diodes! With SF16 rectifiers, you no longer have to sacrifice speed specs when you require higher voltages and/or currents, nor sacrifice higher voltage specs and higher current specs when you require speed. The SF16 is physically the same size as the 1N4004. These rectifiers are shipped as reel strip as shown.

We ran series of DC-to-1 MHz tests comparing the SF16 rectifier with the 1N4004 rectifier and the 1N4148/1N914 diode (1N4148 and 1N914 diodes have virtually identical datasheet specifications). Our random sampling findings:
(1) When 12VDC is applied to a circuit with a 120 ohm resistor in series with the rectifier/diode, the forward drop (Vf) was 0.750V (SF16), 0.795V (1N4004), and 0.885V (1N4148/1N914) (contrary to popular belief, the 1N4xxx series rectifiers have lower Vf than 1N4148/1N914 diodes). The SF16 is clear winner in Vf - even modest decrease in Vf constantly saves energy, increases circuit power, and increases energy efficiency.
(2) We then tested and compared the useful bandwidth for us for the SF16 rectifier to the 1N4004 rectifier and 1N914/1N4148 diode, and found that the useful bandwidths were DC-1+ MHz (SF16 - datasheet indicates SF16 is tested with 7ns pulses), DC-790 KHz (1N914/1N4148 diode), and DC-56 KHz (1N4004 - we could not find any datasheet pulse response specifications for the 1N4004 and in our 1N4004 experiences, there are great variations in their speeds, some failed to work well for even treble audio). The SF16 clearly greatly exceeds the 1N4004 for speed while testing 29+% faster than even 1N914/1N4148 diodes.

The popular 1N4004, 1N4148 and 1N914 rectifiers/diodes don't do the job if you require higher voltage and/or higher current AND much higher speed, and/or low-Vf are important - the choice is clear - you MUST go with SF-16 rectifiers!

NOTE: We also sell herein the very efficient HER-105 400V, 1A rectifiers very similar to SF16 rectifiers except 70% as fast (still faster than the 1N914/1N4148) and a still lower Vf of only 0.724 (same test conditions).

We do not know what they are, they came in box marked, "Gunn Diodes," and without removing them from the lead, we have no way of knowing what the part numbers are. You will just have to take your chances. Gunn diodes are commonly used in police doppler radars. These Gunn diodes are vintage American made (all the other parts, except some of the ICs, in the lot were 1970s-1980s vintage American-made electronic parts). So these microwave diodes are not the commonly sold Online USSR Gunn diodes.
