The CD4007CN is equivalent to the CD4007 / CD4007B, MC14007 / MC14007B, HEF4007 / HEF4007B, HCF4007 / HCF4007B, SGS4007 / SGS4007B, TC4007 / TC4007B, and other CMOS 4007 equivalents. This IC is one of the most versatile, useful, powerful, and under-appreciated CD4xxx-family CMOS ICs of them all. The CD4007 has very useful fundamental building blocks for numerous analog and digital applications. For analog applications (linear applications), I particularly like CD4007/MC14007 ICs for extremely high input impedance driver amplifiers, buffer amplifiers, dual complementary pair amplifiers, linear amplifiers in general, square wave - to - sinewave converters (shapes square waves into sine waves) for signal generators / function generators applications and other wave shaper applications, gain controllers, threshhold detectors, sample-and-hold circuits, and crystal oscillator circuits. New old stock (NOS) TO-3 transistor with gold leads. The incredible 2AD149 monolithic transistor pair is a discontinued transistor. The suggested replacement is the NTE121MP, which is priced at $42.50 each! V(BR)CEO=30 volts, Ic=3.5 Amps. Pd Max=32 watts, Ft(min)=300 KHz. The 2AD149 was and still is to some extent used in stompboxes by musicians who need to reproduce the distinctive tonal character of the "fuzz"-tone from the early rock & roll era. Min. DC current gain is 68; 250 MHz BW. Pin out is: #1 - NPN emitter; #2 - NPN base (signal input); #3 - PNP emitter; #4 - PNP collector; #5 - NPN collector. Internally, the base of the PNP is connected through a resistor to the collector of the NPN. Ideal for power switching circuits. I have been told that this is a very popular industrial part. We ran series of DC-to-1 MHz tests comparing the SF16 rectifier with the 1N4004 rectifier and the 1N4148/1N914 diode (1N4148 and 1N914 diodes have virtually identical datasheet specifications). Our random sampling findings:
        (1) When 12VDC is applied to a circuit with a 120 ohm resistor in series with the rectifier/diode, the forward drop (Vf) was 0.750V (SF16), 0.795V (1N4004), and 0.885V (1N4148/1N914) (contrary to popular belief, the 1N4xxx series rectifiers have lower Vf than 1N4148/1N914 diodes). The SF16 is clear winner in Vf - even modest decrease in Vf constantly saves energy, increases circuit power, and increases energy efficiency.
        (2) We then tested and compared the useful bandwidth for us for the SF16 rectifier to the 1N4004 rectifier and 1N914/1N4148 diode, and found that the useful bandwidths were DC-1+ MHz (SF16 - datasheet indicates SF16 is tested with 7ns pulses), DC-790 KHz (1N914/1N4148 diode), and DC-56 KHz (1N4004 - we could not find any datasheet pulse response specifications for the 1N4004 and in our 1N4004 experiences, there are great variations in their speeds, some failed to work well for even treble audio). The SF16 clearly greatly exceeds the 1N4004 for speed while testing 29+% faster than even 1N914/1N4148 diodes.

The popular 1N4004, 1N4148 and 1N914 rectifiers/diodes don't do the job if you require higher voltage and/or higher current AND much higher speed, and/or low-Vf are important - the choice is clear - you MUST go with SF-16 rectifiers!

EPITAXX EPM606-250 JDS UNIPHASE PHOTODIODE DETECTOR

New old stock (NOS). Great EPITAXX EPM606-250 photodiode detectors! I bought several of these new (in sealed bubble pack as shown) precision Epitaxx photodiode detectors from a scientific laboratory supplier. It is hard to see this device in the image. On the left part of the image is a magnified photo of the body of one. Connected to the top end is several feet of fine, almost invisible fiber optic cable. In the package view, the body of the device, about 3/4" long and about 3/16" diameter shaped like a bullet (almost looks like a 22 long) is barely visible in the lower left hand of the package (view mostly blocked by the label).
