Have you tried to track down these low, fleeting, distant or faint sounds yourself only frustratingly not being able to hear well enough or react fast enough to catch them or to determine their sources? Or hired expensive "surveillance experts," "bug-sweepers" or "ghost busters" with same zero results or a bunch of BS? The HSA works by using a highly-directional microphone, super-amplification circuitry, a fast latching circuit (reacts in milliseconds), both a LED and loud beeping alarms (which comes with a volume control and can be disconnected for a silent alarm / secret alarm indication instead) to detect and continuously alert you to low, fleeting, distant and faint sounds in the mike's pointing direction at and within the sound band the HSA is tuned for (if you specified an HSA band).
           HSA DETECTS CRITICAL LOW-VOLUME, SHORT DURATION BEEPS FROM OTHER ALARM SYSTEMS: Are you missing sounds from alarms or alerts which are so weak and/or short duration that you are distracted or sleep through them? Bothered by strange sounds / weird sounds which seem to come at random or odd times, especially while you are asleep? Unfortunately, many critical alarm systems put out a few faint beeps and then shut off - critical beeps you can easily miss because you are soundly asleep, temporarily out of the area or distracted by other noises and activities. The HSA is designed to detect such faint and short-duration sounds and continuously put out a loud alarm until you shut it off, it times out (if you set it for a time duration) or its battery depletes (if you specified battery operation). To remotely monitor the HSA, you can use a baby alarm with it (baby alarm is not included with the HSA unless explicitly contracted for). We believe that for all critical sounds, as many people as possible who consider that sound to be important should be able to monitor it. However, baby alarms are NOT substitutes for the HSA because baby alarms themselves neither detect low-level and short-duration sounds nor do they lock onto any sound. And unlike the HSA, baby alarms are not highly directional (they also pick much unrelated ambient noises such as traffic, neighbors, equipment, animals, etc.). This means that if you try to use a baby alarm to substitute for the HSA, and you are even briefly distracted or step out of the baby alarm receiver area, or you sleep deeply, or the faint short-duration sound is masked by a louder sound picked up by the typical omnidirectional baby monitor mike, you will likely miss the critical low-volume and/or short-duration critical sound. Also, if the source of the sound or the sound itself you are trying to monitor is expected to soon change but the new sound is also expected to be low-volume and/or short-duration, or there are other faint short-duration sounds you are also interested in, know that the very versatile HSA does a great job detecting and alarming to all types of low-volume and short-duration sounds - the HSA has countless low-volume, short-duration sound uses.
           THE HSA IS VIRTUALLY IDEAL BUSINESS AND HOME INVASION ALARMS: The HSA, especially the Entire Audio Band (20 Hz - 20 KHz) and the All-Band Audio Plus Ultrasonic (20 Hz - 80 KHz) versions, is a far better preventer of and home alarm system / business alarm system for burglaries and home invasions than traditional home alarm systems / business alarm systems because while traditional business / home alarm systems don't typically activate until the criminal has already damaged or invaded or is in the process of damaging or invading your property, the HSA (with the HSA inside your home or business) can alarm you even if the criminal or feral animal is just milling around the outside of your home, business, or nearby car or other property. As the result, traditional alarms can activate too late to save you, your loved ones or property. The HSA is also great against criminals casing your home or business, snoops, peeping toms, knob-turners, lay-and-wait ambushers, home-invading creeps, vandals, snatch-and-grab thieves, gas thieves, and unwanted door-to-door solicitors - its silent alarm / secret alarm feature can quietly alert you to a current or recent invader or snoop without also alerting the invader or snoop. And as part of a baby monitor, home watch, business watch and nanny watch system. When you or your kids come home to an empty house, is your home really empty? One of the most vulnerable parts of people's homes is their garage - an HSA in your garage can alarm you if someone is trying to break into your garage or has enterred through an open garage door. Basements are also vulnerable to home invaders, burglars, murderers and rapists. We all live in an increasingly dangerous world, increased security is now a must.
           HSA DETECTS DISTANT & REMOTE SOUNDS: The HSA is also highly recommended for detecting and listening to remote and distant sounds, and may be a real lifesaver in finding lost children and animals. Also great for bird watchers and other animal researchers, for trackers, for hunters, and for military and police uses. With the HSA, you can detect and hear people and animals at much greater distances and long before they can hear you - giving you great advantages in many situations.
           HSA DETECTS FAINT SOUNDS FROM COLLAPSES, CAVE-INS, AVALANCHES, EARTHQUAKES, TSUNAMIS, WAR ZONES, MINING ACCIDENTS, TERRORIST ATTACKS: The HSA can also be highly effective for detecting people trapped in cave-ins and collapsed mines, buildings, bridges, tunnels, ditches, wells, avalanches, landslides, etc., and is highly recommended for people living in active earthquake zones, mining areas, avalanche areas, tsunami areas, war zones, and terrorist target areas. If someone is trapped or buried, you want the HSA to be right on hand to immediately search for them by detecting their movements, shouts, cries and digging in the rubble. You also want to detect hidden broken gas lines and broken water lines. Highly directional and ultra sensitive, so you don't need to be near or right over the source of the sounds.
           HSA DETECTS WATER LEAKS, AIR LEAKS, GAS LEAKS, FUEL LEAKS, CHEMICAL LEAKS: Water leaks can be devastating to your property, not to mention seriously drive up your water bills and waste valuable drinking water. Need to detect water leaks or overflows in your buried plumbing, walls, ceilings and floors, and through soil, concrete slabs, asphalt, wallboard, ceiling tiles, floor tiles, carpets, wood, plastic and other materials? The HSA can be used to non-destructively pinpoint the locations of underground water leaks and ceiling, floor and wall water leaks (water lines, sprinkler systems, faucets and other valves, hydrants, swimming pools and water tanks). Water leaking under pressure usually makes spurting, spraying, gurgling or PSSS-type sounds, such low-intensity buried sounds usually cannot be heard by the naked ear - especially when your ears are 5+ feet off the ground, which the HSA serves as an excellent hydrophone. Air leaks, gas leaks, fuel leaks and chemical leaks can make similar faint but distinctive sounds which the HSA can also detect. Many plumbers and equipment rental places do not have leak pinpointing devices, and plumbers which do virtually never rent them out, and charge you $200 - $300 EACH TIME they use them on your property (some double the price if they find a leak and you do not hire them to make the repairs). If you can't pinpoint your leak in a yard line, building line or valve, you may be forced to replace the entire line at huge expense, not to mention the extra expense of removing the debris from the torn up area, repairing it, and suffering a loss on your property because it now will likely be heavily scarred due to replacing the entire line. However, if the HSA can pinpoint your leak, you can usually restrict your repairs just to that small area at much less cost and damage. For leak detection, contract for The Entire Audio Band Version of the HSA with the Delux Water Leak Detection Mike. The Delux Water Leak Detection Mike is a mike consisting of a long padded cone (to concentrate leak sounds) attached to a three-foot plastic tube handle - an electronic stethoscope. You place the cone on the surface in various places as you walk along the line's route, and listen for distinctive leak sounds, where the sounds are loudest usually indicates exact location of leak. The Delux Water Leak Detection Mike also works great as a long distance surveillance mike, but is not sold for that purpose. In addition, also consider getting the Long-Reach Mike, which is a mike in a five-foot thin plastic tube handle which can reach deep into small spaces and pipes, and which usually much enhances received leak sounds when inserted into a steel pipe driven into the ground near the leak.
               Note that another very effective way to detect and locate water leaks is by using the soil conductivity method of our less expensive Ultimo Water Leak Detector & Locator, described on our misc-electronics.htm webpage, and pinpointing water leaks by detecting dips in soil resistance due to the water leak wetting the soil (not effective for air leaks, gas leaks, fuel leaks or chemical leaks, or water not leaking into soil). Since soil and water leak conditions vary widely, and one may work better than the other to detect your water leaks, you ideally should have both the HSA and the UWLD&L on hand to detect water leaks.
               Note: Since we neither have control over your soil and leak conditions nor how you will use this device, we cannot guarantee the HSA will pinpoint your leaks, and we assume no liability for false positives, false negatives, locating a leak after damage has already occurred or is imminent, failure to identify the exact location of a leak, or for anything else related to your use of the HSA device or your leak problems. Also, we are not plumbers, so we don't make plumbing repairs or provide plumbing advice or opinions.
           HSA HAS MANY OTHER IMPORTANT USES: Hearing sounds or voices in your head or your thoughts being repeated back to you which are not caused by a medical condition and appear to be emanating from external sources you can't seem to pinpoint or seem to be impossible sources of sound? Plagued by sounds no one else can hear or directed towards you alone? Or by weird sounds, voices or other disturbances which emanate from underground, walls, attic, basement, crawl space, garage, shed, bedroom, other room, large appliances, vehicles and/or equipment? Great for car owners and auto mechanics to ferret out those strange vehicle vibrations, squeaks, rattles and buzzes. Or underground streams or other liquid flows? Or as part of a baby monitor or nanny watch system. Or infestations of insects or rodents busily eating or nesting behind your walls, attic, floor, basement or other hidden places? Or as an electronic geophone / seismic activity detector. Or are you into ghost-busting, spirit hunting, space alien hunting, or animal detection or research (e.g. bird watching, hunting, bats, dolphins, whales, burrowing animals, mice, rats, termites, ants, etc.)? The HSA can be used in all of these other applications as well.
           HSA FEATURES: The HSA is simple and easy to operate and comes with the HSA Module, the Hypersensitive Mike, the buzzer sounder, quality headphones, AC power adapter (for AC power operation), two new 9VDC alkaline batteries (portable DC operation), cabling, and user manual. The HSA Module comes with a Sensitivity Pot so that you can set the sensitivity (i.e. input gain) from high sensitivity to ultra high sensitivity, a Duration Pot to set the duration of the alarm signal, and an output Alarm Volume Pot to control alarm loudness. In addition to a powerful beeper, the HSA also has a LED which also lights when the alarm is activated, even if you disconnect the beeper for silent indication. The HSA also comes with an output port where you can listen to and/or record the filtered highly-amplified sound (if in the audio band) and/or view the detected signal on an oscilloscope. If you need remote monitoring (e.g. the people doing the monitoring are in a different area or office than the HSA), you can easily use the HSA in conjunction with a wireless baby monitor, home watch / home alarm system, internet monitoring system / internet surveillance system, real time spy camera, or some other applicable legal transmitter/receiver system (the HSA neither includes any of these extra systems, nor interfaces to them, nor any recorder, oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, etc.).
           The HSA has two modalities of operation: (1) Feedback Modality, and (2) Non-Feedback Modality. In the Feedback Modality, the alarm signal is also fed back into the sound detection circuitry, which continuously retriggers the alarm until you shut off power to it. In the Non-Feedback Modality, the alarm signal is not fed back, in which case, the alarm activates for periods primarily set by the Duration Pot.
           The highly-directional mike is almost always required to determine actual sound directions - often critically important to determining sound origins with minimal false alarms, and thus determining what or who is making the sounds. By also selecting the band where your sounds of interest lay in, you can also greatly minimize false alarms by isolating your specific sounds of interest - especially useful where and when they are buried in much ambient noise and/or are remote or distant.
           If ultrasonics is important to you, we also do ultrasonic HSA device types. Don't be fooled by similar devices which can't perform above 40 KHz. We also offer HSA infrasonic versions (i.e. sounds below 20 Hz), but because infrasound is spread out and infrasound direction is usually not detectable using electronic detectors, the mike provided is built-in and much more omnidirectional.
           Note that for all critical uses of the very versatile HSA, be sure to repeatedly test it in non-critical situations as similar as possible to your actual critical use, and then use the HSA as a backup system to any existing system you may have to alert you. Most important are the, (1) Adjustment for input sound amplification (multiturn Sensitivity Pot) to maximize true positive indications while minimizing false indications, (2) Pointing of the directional mike so that you maximize sensitivity in the direction that the sound of interest comes from, and (3) Setting of the output sound level so that you will be reliably alerted while not disturbing others not wanting to be disturbed. As with all of our devices, we are not licensed medical personnel, so we never make medical claims or provide medical advice or medical opinion.
           The HSA is the absolute ultimate in low and short-duration sound detection capabilities! Should detecting low and short duration, remote, distant or faint sounds (audio, ultrasonic and/or infrasonic sounds) and alarming you when detected is what you require, the HSA is ideal for you! Was $395 [2 lb] for the Bass Version (20 - 500 Hz), Midrange Version (500 Hz - 4 KHz) and Treble Version (4 - 20 KHz), $545 [2 lb] for the Ultrasonic Version (20 - 80KHz), $695 [2 lb] for Near Infrasound Band Version (2 - 20 Hz, built-in omnidirectional mike), $895 [2 lb] for Far Infrasound Band Version (0.2 - 2 Hz, built-in omnidirectional mike), $595 [2 lb] for the Entire Audio Band Version (20 Hz - 20 KHz - recommended for maximum versatility and where you are not certain which band the sound mostly lies in or if the sound covers multiple audio bands (i.e. wideband audio sound)), $995 [3 lb] for the All-Band Audio Plus Ultrasonic Version (20 Hz - 80 KHz, with major band-selection switch - recommended for both wideband audio sound and mind control and electronic attacks, ultrasonic communications, and animal detection and research where the animal produces or responds to ultrasonic signals), and $795 [2-3 lb] for any other audio and/or ultrasonic band version you specify (each specified band must be between 1% and 25% of upper frequency in width and be at least 500 Hz wide, and must entirely reside between 20 Hz and 200 KHz; add $95 more for each band you specify above first band; 4 bands max; bands may overlap and you may have gaps between your selected bands). Both the plug-in mikes and plug-in alarm sounders have 4-foot cables (flexible, lightweight, high-quality coaxial cables). While the provided mike is highly directional, we can substitute this mike for a more omnidirectional mike (same cost; covers a much greater area but is not nearly as directional), and we can provide additional mikes (e.g. more omnidirectional mike along with the usual highly-directional mike), $95 [1 lb] per mike extra for all mikes, except the Delux Water Leak Detection Mike, which is $195 extra [3 lb]. While the alarm sounder is rated at 70-80 db, we can substitute it for an even much louder 90-110 db alarm sounder ($45 extra), or provide the 90-110 db alarm sounder as an extra sounder ($75 [1 lb] extra) (as with all alarm sounders, take cautions to not disturb your neighbors and others without their permissions, and place and tune the HSA system to minimize false alarms). Thus, the criminals casing your home or business are much less likely to know whether or not the building is occupied or there is someone alert in the building, nor when the next activation will occur or its duration, and they stand a much greater chance of getting caught if they do cause you problems (Note that while nothing can guarantee that a person or property won't be victimized by crime, we believe that the A&RACF will go a long way in foiling even sophisticated criminals).
           The A&RACF is also great for controlling pests both large and small. Random and sound-based light-activations are very stressful for rodents (mice, rats, squirrels, raccoons, deer repellant), and insects - light activations they cannot predict, time or get used to, so they tend to avoid those areas.

                    (1) The Single Transmitter UUHS: The ST-UUHS consists of one ultrasound transmitter transducer assembly.                     (2) The Double Transmitter UUHS: The DT-UUHS consists of two identical and interchangeable ultrasound transmitter transducer assemblies. The typical setup here is to point the modulated ultrasound transducer at a target and the second tranducer connected to one of the ultrasonic carrier outputs pointed at the same target to result in localized targeted heterodyning, which results in both sum and difference frequencies. The current tsunami detection and warning system (The Tsunami Warning System) consists of complex, immobile, very expensive and highly structured detection and communications systems. Tsunamis are caused by underwater or coastal earthquakes, volcanoes, landslides and asteroid strikes. Huge underwater and coastal landslides resulting in deadly tsunamis can be triggered by even small earthquakes, volcanoes, underwater natural and manmade explosions, and even purportedly by global warming. Therefore, detecting and measuring earthquakes, while important to tsunami detection, are by themselves highly inadequate. Those facing tsunami dangers not only live near the Pacific Ocean where all the DART sensors are now located, but tsunamis can strike just about anywhere there is a substantial body of water, also including but not limited to the Indian Ocean (as the world has seen), the Atlantic Ocean, the Gulf of Mexico, the Great Lakes, and big rivers, bays, other lakes and even reservoirs. Most Americans live within striking distance of a tsunami. If not quickly warned before a tsunami nears the shore, you may have only seconds or minutes to escape or face a violent and horrible death.

The current tsunami system leaves vast areas of the oceans unmonitored. It is limited to the Pacific Ocean, and it currently consists of 6 deep ocean sensors, 2 of which were recently and may still be broken (Aleutian Islands). The San Francisco Chronicle states about the current tsunami sensors (1/10/05): "Then there's the problem of tsunami-watching instruments that, like snoozing guard dogs, aren't working when they are needed."

The current system is also extremely expensive. Each deep ocean sensor costs $2,500,000, requires $125,000 in annual maintenance, and has a life of two years, and is apparently structured to provide slow, inadequate and subjective warning responses to incoming tsunami waves that can travel 500+ mph in open ocean. The current system has a record of not warning about tsunamis that did occur, and falsely warning about tsunamis that did not occur (75% false alarm rate since 1975!). Asinine claims have even been made by proponents of this clearly defective, inadequate and very expensive current system that it is the only system that can possibly work to detect and measure tsunamis in open ocean waters!

Kevlar is renowned as a "bullet-proof" material - an incredibly strong and tough material! Kevlar is not only famous for its ballistics stopping properties but also as one of the strongest, toughest, most wear-resistant (scuff resistant), and most heat-resistant materials used in various other protection, construction and structural applications as well (not to mention how well Kevlar protects Batman). This super strong, super tough Kevlar fabric is widely used by the police, military, aerospace, marine (e.g. boat building / boat repairing), construction, automotive, sports, and mining industries. All popular Kevlars are rated at about 49,000 psi tensile strength - 5 times stronger than nylon of the same size - 5 times stronger than steel cable of the same weight - this Kevlar web material should be able to hold about 4,600 lbs load for the 1.5" wide Kevlar and about 6,100 lbs load for the 2.0"-wide Kevlar. Kevlar is also fire resistant and flame resistant - resists charring up to about 900 degrees F (nylon melts, burns and loses almost all of its strength and toughness above about 300 degrees F; nylon releases toxic fumes when it burns).

Note that this is heavy-duty Kevlar strap. This is not Kevlar ribbon, which is a thin Kevlar fabric and therefore lacks most of the strength, toughness and resistance to stretching of this thick industrial-grade Kevlar webbing. This is also not Kevlar wick because it has a very tight weave while Kevlar wick weave is intentionally loose to sop-up fuel. Kevlar wick is not built for strength, toughness or resistance to stretch, but only takes advantage of Kevlar's phenomenal resistance to being burned or melted to be reusable lamp wicks.

While this Kevlar strapping is not Kevlar wick, even with its much tighter weave, this Kevlar can be used as a virtually non-consuming lamp wick in a pinch. And it can also be wrapped around the top of a pole and then dipped into a flammable liquid to serve as a practically indestructible and re-usable torch (in fact, we use pieces of our Kevlar webbing to wipe off hot soldering irons). Similarly, this Kevlar webbing can be soaked with a fuel and laid out in lines or squares and set afire for optimum and reusable aerial spotting purposes (e.g. wilderness rescue). Because of its terrific heat resistance / burn resistance along with its legendary strength and toughness, Kevlar finds great uses in many hot applications, ranging from kitchen to welding to model rocketry to ceramics to glassblowing to car racing.

The Batman producers selected for Batman the most effective and advanced high-tech accessories on the planet to carry out his superhero work. One of these high-tech accessories most critical to Batman's survival from all kinds of violent physical assaults is his outfit. The fact that the Batman producers picked Kevlar for Batman's outfit says much about the super-great protective qualities of Kevlar. Just as Kevlar was chosen to protect Batman, choose Kevlar to protect you in the real world.

PROTECTIVE GARMENT / BODY ARMOR USES: We are all living in an increasingly dangerous world. Anything which can provide you (and your loved ones) substantial protection against handguns, shotguns and some rifles, knives, hatchets, axes, claws, teeth/fangs and blunt weapons - not to mention sports hazards, occupational hazards and transportation hazards - can mean the difference in your spouse, parents and kids ever seeing you alive again. Kevlar material is great! Kevlar vests are always made from Kevlar plies or Kevlar overlays - not from a single sheet of Kevlar - because plies add strength and toughness, and distribute impact forces much better. You can cut this Kevlar webbing into lengths, lay them down in plies, and cement or sew the Kevlar plies together to form Kevlar protective vests to much better protect you and your loved ones from many oncoming sharp, pointed, blunt, high-energy and very hot objects from damaging your Kevlar protected body, animals or equipment. While your homemade Kevlar protective vest may not be as elegant or pretty (more on toughness below) as very expensive commercial "bullet-proof" vests, Kevlar protection is far better than leather, denim and canvass. And you can make the vest to form fit you to your size and shape (like Batman) to make it more comfortable to wear and concealable under your clothes. Your Kevlar "bullet-proof" vest should also provide you protection from some industrial accidents, car accidents, sports accidents and even every day accidents. Several years ago, we was struck in the right chest by a fast, heavy rock ejected from a mower - it easily punched through my heavy leather coat - if we had been struck over my heart, head or neck, it likely would have killed me.

Advanced body armor design may employ articulated armor (also called, articulated body armor, flexible armor, flexible body armor and flex armor), and using Kevlar, it is called articulated Kevlar armor (also called, articulated Kevlar body armor, flexible Kevlar armor or flexible Kevlar body armor) - much more flexible than rigid body armor, often more comfortable, and usually more effective at protecting the wearer. This great Kevlar webbing is ideal for all forms of flexible body armor using Kevlar.

You can also use this Kevlar webbing to make head bands, head caps, neck bands, belts, arm wraps, foot wraps, leg wraps, chaps, and shorts/trousersto protect and support those vital body areas as well - especially critical if you are around powerful cutting or puncturing machines (e.g. power nailers, circular saws, chain saws), or animals which tend to bite or claw the head, neck or limbs, or rough sports.

You can also use this Kevlar webbing to make relatively lightweight Kevlar protective panels which you can hide inside or behind your valises, book bags, backpacks, suitcases, books (even schools these days can be dangerous), car doors, car trunks, doors, windows, walls, etc., so if and when that bad situation ever occurs, you can put your valise, backpack, door, etc. between you and the oncoming threat and have a much greater chance of surviving the experience. Years ago, when New York's "Son of Sam" pointed his gun at a young woman walking towards him on a city sidewalk, she held up her book bag to protect herself. The 44 magnum bullet penetrated all of her thick textbooks and killed her anyhow. If in addition, she had a thick Kevlar panel inside her book bag, the bullet may not have penetrated or have deflected away enough from her body and she may have lived. Today's streets are dangerous - especially in some cities - and you just do not know when and where the next terrible threat is going to come from! In disaster situations, you may be suddently faced with total lawlessness, rioters, looters, rapists and robbers. And every time you pick up the paper there is someone going postal at work, or some serial killer or Beltway Shooter type on the loose.

You can also use this Kevlar webbing to help protect buildings, shelters, airports, chemical plants, mines and tunnels from collapsing, caving in or being penetrated by explosive forces, and the resulting falling debris and flying debris. This can be done by sandwiching a crosshatch pattern of this Kevlar webbing with some type of plastic sheeting (flexible or non-flexible), all held together by a strong adhesive. Then reinforce these Kevlar-plastic panels with angle iron or aluminum angle along its edges. Then cementing or screwing in the panels onto the walls and ceilings most vulnerable to penetration. Just what you might need if you live or work in a war zone, high crime area, or an area afflicted by earthquakes, hurricanes or tornadoes, or inside a high-risk structure or mine. Add into this sandwich assembly aluminum or copper foil or galvanized steel sheeting, and you have additional protection from microwave penetrations.

To determine how much Kevlar strapping you need for any application, you might first simulate your design using strips of roll cloth or ribbon of this width, and then perhaps adding another 10% in your order for mistakes or extra things you can use the leftovers for (e.g. protective headbands, neckbands, arm wraps, belts, head caps, panels, etc.). For adults, a protective vest from neck to groin should come to about 15-20 feet of 1.5" Kevlar and about 10-15 feet of 2" Kevlar.

ROPE LADDER USES: Also see our Kevlar sleeving offer herein. Commercially-made rope ladders using nylon rope are very expensive (I know of none that uses Kevlar rope or Kevlar strapping/webbing) - we 've seen them priced at about $50 + S/H for a measely 4 feet long rope ladder made of nylon. Kevlar is used for lifting elevators (sometimes to replace elevator steel cables, which doesn't last nearly as long as Kevlar cabling), so you know that Kevlar will hold one heck of load suspended vertically from it and under adverse conditions (e.g. unbalanced load, shifting load, swinging load, much in-motion contact with hard, rough surfaces, etc.). If you use this Kevlar to make a rope ladder (say you work or live several stories high), and your building is subject to fire, explosion and/or airplane crash, and you are physically fit enough to climb down a rope ladder when your life depends on it, as a last resort to save your life you can descend down your Kevlar rope ladder to ground safety PLUS 20+ other family members, friends, associates, etc. can also all descend down your rope ladder behind you and all be on the Kevlar ladder at the same time and this Kevlar webbing should not break - just as long their total weight does not exceed the Kevlar webbing huge weight limit - even if the room itself or rooms below it are burning. Even if you are on the 100th floor, you may be able to safely and quickly descend down enough floors to be able to land on a balcony, roof top or kick through the window of another room below the danger you have escaped to save your life. You can even use this Kevlar webbing to make a simplified version of a rope ladder by simply tieing knots in a single piece of the webbing every 2-4 feet along its total length and then buying a good pair of leather work gloves and a strong harness (which you can also make from Kevlar webbing) with a large strong buckles or clevises on it to secure you to the Kevlar strapping to safely descend. Consider that if you work or live in a multi-story building, what would you do right now to save yourself and others from a fire, explosion or plane crash in a floor below yours? Experts say that fleeing to the roof and being saved by a helicopter seldom happens in real life. That's because access to the roof without keys, the availability of a rescue helicopter in time, and the ability of the rescue helicopter to get close enough to rescue you are rare. Elevators often don't work and trap victims inside, and in panics, stairways clog up quickly with slow people. Other victims with no hope of being rescued and with no rope or ladder, dove out of windows of the Twin Towers on 9/11 to their certain violent deaths. Your only reasonable path to rescue is out the window!

KEVLAR'S MANY OTHER USES: Kevlar webbing and Kevlar sleeving have many other uses - practically unlimited - and many related to safety and security, requiring minimal weight and bulk compared to similar performances from ropes, webbing, cables and chains made from nylon, steel and other high-strength materials. Some of them: Rescue equipment, tow straps, lifting straps, elevator cables, hoists, safety harnesses, horse / carriage harnesses, military and other helmets, core material for conveyor belts / pully belts (can be made into a makeshift pully belt), climbing ropes / rapelling ropes (e.g. rock climbing, spelunking), hang gliding / parachute straps, swing attachments, vehicle barriers, composite bow cores, ground up as tire / clutch / brake pad filler material (replaces asbestos), to make boats and aircraft bodies, cable / pipe / tube protection (Kevlar is also both thermal insulator and great electrical insulator), protective clothing and accessories used in rough sports (e.g. contact sports, paint ball) / industrial / outdoor activities, strapping to secure and lift heavy equipment, crates and bundles of pipes, lumber, other materials, to securely tie down heavy vehicle loads, to protectively wrap or encase fossil bones, delicate parts and equipment subjected to being battered around. Kevlar can also be used to make shoe soles (which should last virtually forever) and shoe and boot linings to protect the feet from nails, glass, animal bites and claws, etc. And Kevlar webbing can also be used to secure vehicles and other Items from theft in some situations because it is very difficult to cut with bolt cutters and unlikely for the criminal to show up with a blade sharp and hard enough to get through Kevlar (so tough that knives and saw blades tend to get snagged in it - see how to properly cut Kevlar below). Kevlar is an ideal material to have around for various construction projects because you can use it to reinforce force-bearing wood, plastic, sheet metal and composite materials you use for much greater strength and toughness (for example, by sandwiching it between two boards or posts used to span a large opening and securely cementing the assembly together). And if you have an especially heavy job, for example, trying to pull out a tree stump or car out of a ditch or raise a car engine, you will really appreciate the great advantages of Kevlar. This Kevlar webbing should be able to replace whatever other lesser webbing material you now have in your winch or hoist of the same or bigger size.

Kevlar can be combined with other materials to further increase its strength and toughness. For example, you can mix up certain fibers of the right size and aspect ratio with your cement used to secure the plies. You can also use Kevlar in conjunction with ballistic ceramics, carbon cloth and other protective materials. The important thing to remember is that for a garment designed to protect the torso, you want maximum toughness. Toughness is the ability to resist breaking when under violent force. Toughness is somewhat directly proportional to tensile strength - which is extremely high in all known Kevlar materials - and somewhat inversely proportional to stiffness. On one hand, you do not want your protective Kevlar vest to be rock stiff, and on the other hand, you do not want it to tear or even deform more than about 2" under the most brutal force it is designed to protect you against. Consider that the kinetic energy (KE) on object impact equals one-half the object's mass times its velocity squared, and the resulting impact force is equal to the KE divided by the stopping distance. For example, the impact force to stop a projectile in 1" is only 1% of the impact force to stop the same projectile in 1/100". Greater stiffness means greater impact force which means more likely material shattering, penetration and being knocked down. You want the body armor to react to violent force more like taffy and less like concrete. On the other hand, more than 2" of deformation under force usually means more than 2" of deformation of your body from the hit, resulting in likely fatal or near fatal injury from blunt force trauma to your organs, and not just painful but survivable bruising that may not even be severe enough to land you in one of today's super expensive hospitals. The reason why Kevlar plies are used is that you want the force to spread out from the point of impact in a conical fashion to the area of the fabric in contact with your body so that the per-square inch (psi) of the force that reaches your body is orders of magnitude less than the impact point psi. Its not the impact force that kills you, its penetration or psi that kills you! When the plied Kevlar is hit, it deforms into the body, and as it deforms, much of the impact force radiates nearly horizontally in it, resulting in the spread out or radiation of the force in a conical pattern. The black center stripe down this Kevlar strapping is there to help you more perfectly align your ply strips as you sew or cement them together so that there are no borders between the plies. For added protection, consider placing a couple of extra plies over the heart area.

Untreated Kevlar webbing also has low coefficient of friction - as low as about 0.15 - about the same as nylon webbing but with much better strength, toughness, wear resistance and thermal properties than nylon webbing. Kevlar webbing is great for Kevlar skids and Kevlar sled guides. For example, use Kevlar webbing to make Kevlar skids for your truck, van or SUV bed to make it much easier for you to place, position and remove heavy loads, and also protects the bottom and sides of your vehicle's bed from much wear and dings. Use Kevlar webbing to make Kevlar sled guides - Kevlar is so great that polar exploration teams will measure ice thickness every foot for 1,250 miles near the North Pole at temperatures as low as -58 °F using sleds outfitted with Kevlar sled guides ("Popular Science," Feb. 2009, p.29).

Kevlar does have a few disadvantages, all of which can be fairly easily overcome. Kevlar will deteriorate faster than nylon when exposed to water or UV radiation, so in these long term environments Kevlar materials should always be covered by a sealed, snug-fitting, opaque plastic material or coated with a marine resin (water-protected Kevlar webbing and Kevlar sheets are commonly used in boat construction and boat repairs). And because Kevlar is so extremely strong and tough, it is difficult to cut, and cutting it with even the sharpest scissors or knife often results in fraying or splaying of Kevlar fibers at the cut point. However, if you lay down a line of cement (e.g. plastic model airplane glue) along the desired cut line (both sides), once cured, We have found it much easier to cut Kevlar materials using a sharp Fiskars scissors (We have also heard that tough scissors made by Belmont, Kretzer-Finny, Gingher and Wiss scissors also work good to cut Kevlar cordage and webbing, but have not tried them myself). Much better is a Dremel tool with industrial diamond cutting disk/wheel - cuts clean, neat, fast and straight, never needs sharpening, safer than sharp tools, doesn't require pre-cementing the cut line, and doesn't leave frayed ends (and it also works great on plexiglas, plastics, metals, hardwoods). Dremel tools are about the size/shape of baby bottle, and some use rechargeable batteries. This means that you don't need big, powerful, costly tools or a shop to process Kevlar webbing, but you can work Kevlar even in relatively small spaces and outdoors (used Dremel tools and diamond cutting wheels are usually inexpensive; note that no tools, parts, accessories, cements or other materials are included with this Item). Also, Kevlar's cut fibers should not be breathed in or dispersed; do all of your Kevlar cutting, drilling, etc. outside or in another safe well-ventilated area where you can vacuum them all up and safely dispose of them. And with all tool work, always use safety goggles, dust mask and safety gloves, keep kids, pets, foods and liquids away, and work in a safe and careful manner. We have handled, cut and drilled a lot Kevlar for years and have not suffered any known harmful effects from Kevlar.

Commonly available and relatively inexpensive cements and additives can be used to secure the Kevlar plies in place while enhancing Kevlar's already great toughness. Much of this Kevlar information is on the Internet; however, if you buy 30+' of this Kevlar from us at the same time, and you ask for it, we will send you the information we have on what cements we find works great on Kevlar and what additives you can add to the cement which further increases Kevlar toughness.

Kevlar is renowned as a "bullet-proof" material - an incredibly strong and tough material! Kevlar is not only famous for its ballistics stopping properties but also as one of the strongest, toughest, most wear-resistant (scuff-resistant), and most heat-resistant materials used in various other protection, construction and structural applications as well (not to mention how well Kevlar protects Batman). This super strong, super tough Kevlar fabric is widely used by the police, military, aerospace, marine (e.g. boat building / boat repairing), construction, automotive, and sports industries. All popular Kevlars are rated at about 49,000 psi tensile strength - 5 times stronger than nylon of the same size - 5 times stronger than steel cable of the same weight - this Kevlar sleeve material should be able to hold about 1,500 lbs load. Kevlar is also fire resistant and flame resistant - resists charring up to about 900 degrees F (nylon melts, burns and loses almost all of its strength and toughness above about 300 degrees F; nylon releases toxic fumes when it burns).

Note that this is Kevlar sleeving. This is not Kevlar ribbon, which is a thin non-sleeving (single-layer) Kevlar fabric, which lacks much of the strength, toughness and resistance to length-wise stretching as this Kevlar sleeving. This is also not Kevlar wick. Kevlar wick is a loose Kevlar weave - not built for strength, toughness or resistance to stretch - which takes advantage of Kevlar's phenomenal resistance to being burned, and which is used as a re-usable lamp wick. However, this Kevlar sleeving, even with its much tighter weave, can be used as a lamp wick in a pinch, and it can also be wrapped around the top of a pole and then dipped into a flammable liquid to serve as a practically indestructible and re-usable torch. Similarly, this Kevlar webbing can be soaked with a fuel and laid out in lines or squares and set afire for optimum aerial spotting purposes (e.g. wilderness rescue).

The big advantage of Kevlar sleeving, as opposed to webbing, is that you can pull it over cables, wire bundles, chains, ropes, rods, pipes, tubes, cylinders and parts it will fit over upto about 1" cross section, including items with odd-shaped cross-sections, as well as round and square, to add strength and to protect them from abrasions, cuts and fire. This Kevlar sleeving fits nicely over the fingers and toes, and can be used as finger protectors / toe protectors where they are exposed to abrasions, cuts, punctures or fire dangers, or even make glove parts and sock parts from this Kevlar sleeve material. This Kevlar sleeving also fits nicely over tool handles for better grip and improved insulation. The inside diameter of the Kevlar sleeving is 3/4" but it expands along its width to about 1" diameter, and lays flat on a spool or reel. While being very strong, tough and fire-resistant, this Kevlar sleeving is pliable and supple - easy to knot and un-knot, to fold, and to roll into a rope and strung through tarp eyelets, making it very versatile for countless uses. It is also compact and lightweight - 100 feet can be easily rolled into a small enough roll to fit inside a pocket, valise, tool box, backpack or concealed in a desk (in case you need to escape through a window to save your life).

ROPE LADDER USES: Also see our 1-1/2" and 2"-wide Kevlar webbing offers herein. Commercially-made rope ladders using nylon rope are very expensive (I know of none that uses Kevlar rope or Kevlar strapping/webbing) - we 've seen them priced at about $50 + S/H for a measely 4 feet long rope ladder made of nylon. Kevlar is used for lifting elevators (sometimes to replace elevator steel cables, which doesn't last nearly as long as Kevlar cabling), so you know that Kevlar will hold one heck of load suspended vertically from it and under adverse conditions (e.g. unbalanced load, shifting load, swinging load, much in-motion contact with hard, rough surfaces, etc.). If you use this Kevlar to make a rope ladder (say you work or live many stories high), and your building is subject to fire, explosion and/or aircraft crash, and you are physically fit enough to climb down a rope ladder when your life depends on it, as a last resort to save your life you can descend down your Kevlar rope ladder to ground safety PLUS 4+ other family members, friends, associates, etc. can also all descend down your rope ladder behind you and all be on the Kevlar ladder at the same time and this Kevlar sleeving should not break - just as long their total weight does not exceed the Kevlar sleeving great weight limit - even if the room itself or rooms below it are burning. Once some reach the bottom, others can get on at the top. Even if you are on the 100th floor, you may be able to safely and quickly descend down enough floors to be able to land on a balcony, roof top of a nearby building or kick through the window of another room below the danger you have escaped to save your life.
To make the simplest Kevlar rope ladder possible, you simply tie knots in a single piece of the Kevlar sleeve of the length you need every 2-4 feet along its total length and then buy a good pair of leather work gloves and a strong harness (which you can also make from Kevlar sleeving) with a large strong buckles or clevises on it to secure you to the Kevlar sleeving to safely descend. A safer Kevlar rope ladder with two sides and Kevlar "rungs" is almost as simple to make - just requires about 3.5 times the Kevlar sleeving as a knotted single.
Consider that if you work or live in a multi-story building, what would you do right now to save yourself and others from a fire, explosion or plane crash in a floor below yours? Experts say that fleeing to the roof and being saved by a helicopter seldom happens in real life. For example, those who fled to the roof tops of the Twin Towers on 9/11 all died - zero were rescued by helicopter. That's because access to the roof without keys and a guide, the availability of a rescue helicopter in time, and the ability of the rescue helicopter to get close and fast enough to rescue you all rarely occur. Elevators often don't work and trap victims inside, and in panics, stairways clog up quickly with slow people. Other victims with no hope of being rescued and with no rope or ladder, dove out of windows of the Twin Towers on 9/11 to their certain violent deaths. In virtually all cases, to save yourself, you MUST go through the window to be rescued, and you MUST have a very strong rope or ladder to safely descend from the danger area to safety!

PROTECTIVE GARMENT USES: You can also use this Kevlar webbing to make head bands, head caps, neck bands, belts, arm wraps, foot wraps, leg wraps, chaps, and shorts/trousersto protect and support those vital body areas as well - especially critical if you are around powerful cutting or puncturing machines (e.g. power nailers, circular saws, chain saws), or animals which tend to bite or claw the head, neck or limbs, or rough sports. And as tie-down straps for garments and panels usually made from heavier Kevlars, such as the Kevlar webbing we also sell (see herein). And as very strong and durable carrying and pulling handles. And as protective trim for clothes, luggage, equipment, furniture, etc. to protect surfaces and contact points which may tend to receive more frictional wear-and-tear than other parts. Kevlar sleeving is commonly slipped over cable, wire bundles, pipe, hose and tubing to provide them much greater friction protection, and for fire protection whether the fire is external or due to an electrical short or bursting situation inside the Kevlar sleeving, and in addition (if the fitting is snug), helps protect pipe, hose and tubing from bursting due to high pressures or defects in pipe/hose/tube wall. As well as providing electrical and thermal insulation for the jacketed item. And Kevlar sleeving is used as a protective wrap for larger diameter items.

GREAT PURSE, WALLET, BAG & BACKPACK PROTECTION: In many urban areas and foreign countries today, thieves will rush by you with a sharp knife, razor or cutters and cut the strap of your purse, bag or backpack - rip it right off your body, and flee with it in just seconds. While our Kevlar sleeving is not totally indestructible, it is much, much stronger and tougher than are cloth, leather, plastic and nylon straps. To cut Kevlar sleeving here, we use a power cutter with a diamond disk. You can use this Kevlar sleeving to either replace or reinforce your normal straps. Since it is sleeving, many types of straps can be fed through it. Or you can use tape or plastic ties (not included) to secure the Kevlar parallel to your straps. For wallets, you can punch a hole into the fold, and run the Kevlar sleeving through it, tying one end to your wallet and the other end to your belt so no one can grab and run with your wallet when you take it out to pay for things - sure beats tying a chain to your wallet.

KEVLAR'S MANY OTHER USES: Kevlar sleeving and Kevlar webbing have many other uses - practically unlimited - and many related to safety and security, requiring minimal weight and bulk compared to similar performances from ropes, webbing, cables and chains made from nylon, steel and other high-strength materials. Some of them: Rescue equipment, tow straps, lifting straps, elevator cables, hoists, safety harnesses, horse / carriage harnesses, military and other helmets, core material for conveyor belts / pully belts (can be made into a makeshift pully belt), climbing ropes / rapelling ropes (e.g. rock climbing, spelunking), hang gliding / parachute straps, swing attachments, vehicle barriers, composite bow cores, ground up as tire / clutch / brake pad filler material (replaces asbestos), to make boats and aircraft bodies, cable / pipe / tube protection (Kevlar is also both thermal insulator and great electrical insulator), protective clothing and accessories used in rough sports (e.g. contact sports, paint ball) / industrial / outdoor activities, strapping to secure and lift heavy equipment, crates and bundles of pipes, lumber, other materials, to securely tie down heavy vehicle loads, to protectively wrap or encase fossil bones, delicate parts and equipment subjected to being battered around. Kevlar can also be used to make shoe soles (which should last virtually forever) and shoe and boot linings to protect the feet from nails, glass, etc. And Kevlar webbing can also be used to secure vehicles and other Items from theft in some situations because it is very difficult to cut with bolt cutters and unlikely for the criminal to show up with a blade sharp and hard enough to get through Kevlar (so tough that knives and saw blades tend to get snagged in it - see how to properly cut Kevlar below). Kevlar is an ideal material to have around for various construction projects because you can use it to reinforce force-bearing wood, plastic, sheet metal and composite materials you use for much greater strength and toughness (for example, by sandwiching it between two boards or posts used to span a large opening and securely cementing the assembly together). And if you have an especially heavy job, for example, trying to pull out a tree stump or car out of a ditch or raise a car engine, you will really appreciate the great advantages of Kevlar. This Kevlar webbing should be able to replace whatever other lesser webbing material you now have in your winch or hoist of the same or bigger size.

Kevlar can be combined with other materials to further increase its strength and toughness. For example, you can mix up certain fibers of the right size and aspect ratio with your cement used to secure the plies. You can also use Kevlar in conjunction with ballistic ceramics, carbon cloth and other protective materials. The important thing to remember is that for a garment designed to protect the torso, you want maximum toughness. Toughness is the ability to resist breaking when under violent force. Toughness is somewhat directly proportional to tensile strength - which is extremely high in all known Kevlar materials - and somewhat inversely proportional to stiffness. On one hand, you do not want your protective Kevlar vest to be rock stiff, and on the other hand, you do not want it to tear or even deform more than about 2" under the most brutal force it is designed to protect you against. Consider that the kinetic energy (KE) on object impact equals one-half the object's mass times its velocity squared, and the resulting impact force is equal to the KE divided by the stopping distance. For example, the impact force to stop a projectile in 1" is only 1% of the impact force to stop the same projectile in 1/100". Greater stiffness means greater impact force which means more likely material shattering, penetration and being knocked down. You want the body armor to react to violent force more like taffy and less like concrete. On the other hand, more than 2" of deformation under force usually means more than 2" of deformation of your body from the hit, resulting in likely fatal or near fatal injury from blunt trauma to your organs, and not just painful but survivable bruising that may not even be severe enough to land you in one of today's super expensive hospitals. The reason why Kevlar plies are used is that you want the force to spread out from the point of impact in a conical fashion to the area of the fabric in contact with your body so that the per-square inch (psi) of the force that reaches your body is orders of magnitude less than the impact point psi. Its not the impact force that kills you, its penetration or psi that kills you! When the plied Kevlar is hit, it deforms into the body, and as it deforms, much of the impact force radiates nearly horizontally in it, resulting in the spread out or radiation of the force in a conical pattern. The black center stripe down this Kevlar strapping is there to help you more perfectly align your ply strips as you sew or cement them together so that there are no borders between the plies. For added protection, consider placing a couple of extra plies over the heart area.

Kevlar does have a few disadvantages, all of which can be fairly easily overcome. It will deteriorate faster than nylon when exposed to water or UV radiation, so long term in these environments Kevlar materials should always be covered by a sealed, snug-fitting, opaque plastic material or coated with a marine resin (so-protected, Kevlar is commonly used in boat construction and boat repairs). And because Kevlar is so extremely strong and tough, it is difficult to cut, and cutting it with even the sharpest scissors or knife often results in fraying or splaying of fibers at the cut point. However, if you lay down a line of cement (e.g. plastic model airplane glue) along the desired cut line (both sides), and allow it to cure, we have found it much easier to cut Kevlar materials using a sharp Fiskars scissors (we have also heard that tough scissors made by Belmont, Kretzer-Finny, Gingher and Wiss scissors also work good to cut Kevlar cordage and webbing, but have not tried them myself). However, what works best for us is a Dremel tool with industrial diamond cutting disk/wheel - cuts clean, neat and straight, never needs sharpening, safer than sharp tools, doesn't require pre-cementing the cut line, and usually doesn't leave frayed ends (and it also works great on plexiglas, plastics, metals, woods, ceramic, glass). Dremel tools are about the size/shape of baby bottle, and some use rechargeable batteries. This means that you don't need big, powerful, costly tools or a shop to process Kevlar webbing, but you can work Kevlar even in relatively small spaces and outdoors (I buy Dremel tools at the flea market for about $10 each, and diamond wheels for about $1 each; note that no tools, parts, accessories, cements or other materials are included with this Item). Also, Kevlar's cut fibers should not be breathed in or dispersed; if possible, do all of your Kevlar cutting, drilling, etc. outside or in a limited well-ventilated area where you can vacuum them all up and safely dispose of them. And with all tool work, always use safety goggles, dust mask and safety gloves, keep kids and pets away, and work in a safe and careful manner. We have handled, cut and drilled a lot Kevlar and have not suffered any known harmful effects from Kevlar.

These Gorilla hooks are extremely strong, and are used to support and suspend a strong window ladder by hooking onto window sills, window ledges and window thresholds, or around a bar or other structure it can securely hold onto. The user can then use the ladder to safely descend to the ground to flee a burning or exploding building or dangerous intruder, which often can mean the difference between life and death. We bought these Gorilla hooks shortly after 9/11 for a relative who then both worked and lived in multi-story buildings. We don't know how strong these Gorilla hooks are, our estimate is about 1,000 lbs per hook, which probably exceeds most window sills and window ledges, but should be able to support several people using the ladder at the same time. Each hook consists of 3 sandwiched metal plates securely riveted together (5 thick rivets), each metal plateabout 3/16" thick, with a 3-3/4" gap from the bottoms of both sides. Used and in excellent condition! Rare, vintage police Rolatape Model 200. This stunning and exciting find is a rare vintage crime scene investigation (CSI) rolling tape measure equipment primarily used to investigate serious traffic accidents and perpetrator trails. Very high quality construction and materials. Body is made of metal and is about 7.5"diameter. Rolatape label states that it is a Rolatape Model 200 (Santa Monica, Calif.). Has an accordion-type folding arm that extends to about 3 feet (image shows it next to an 18" ruler). The handle folds up neatly and stores into the provided leather case, permitting the crime scene investigator to easily carry it in his vehicle. Even includes the rare documentation on it! This cost $34.75 when bought new, circa 1950s. We bought it from a retired police officer.

          Note that this rare Peek-O Door Viewer is gold-looking machine-brushed BRASS (also making this Peek-O Door Viewer a great collectible!) - not the lesser steel used on almost all other Peek-O door viewers of similar design. This can be critical because the brass is non-magnetic and steel is magnetic, which means with the steel version a small listening device, camera or other device with a magnetic base can be attached to a steel viewer to eavesdrop outside and inside conversations, and to surveil your comings, goings and deliveries and those of your family and visitors.
          Note that the inside stem of the viewer can be used to place a viewing tube over it (not provided) to allow you to safely stand away from the viewer and door while viewing through it. These scabbard materials are new materials for making scabbards of many different kinds and types. Used and works great. O. M. Franklin Identity Marking Tool. This rare and possibly unique stamping tool was originally made for stamping livestock in the mouth as a form of branding them. However, it has many other practical uses where one needs to uniquely identify something in a way that is both permanent (cannot be erased or covered up and won't wear out) and very difficult to counterfeit. You dial in the 4-digit serial number by rotating the wheels at the top of the tool head. Each digit consists of a number of 1/4"-long pointed steel spikes arrayed in the form of a digit (0 - 9) which penetrates or at least indents the material being marked. See upper right of image to see what the stamping looks like. Works especially well with soft-to-medium materials such as leather, plastic, some metals and wood, and flesh between 1/32" to 1/4" thick. Also makes a great collectible. Has some surface discoloration and rust.

New! Are your home/business wiring, piping, etc. or even car wiring hijacked to electronically harass or surveil you by hitchhiking signals onto them? Because power and telephone lines, and metal pipe (e.g. plumbing), metal tubing (e.g. wire shielding) and metal linear structures (e.g. rebar, girders, conduit, trim, rails, fencing) surround you virtually everywhere you go in any building, electronic surveillance devices, equipment control devices, mind control devices and electronic attack devices can be connected to them in virtually every room and even outside the building for some distances - these omnipresent conductors serve as the optimum means to connect up, transmit and distribute these very harmful electronic surveillance, mind control and electronic attack signals throughout the building (sometimes mistakenly called, "carrier current" attacks) - optimum conductors for virtually endless varieties of bugs, taps, harassment, control and line blaster devices. Our WHHE devices both test and filter out harmful hitchhiking signals!
       Since these conductors are so prevalent in virtually every building, added with the technologies of time multiplexing signals and frequency multiplexing signals, literally dozens - even 100s - of these types of very harmful signals can be operational on any day and night against you - usually no matter what rooms you are in. Your home or business is just several huge signal distribution networks plus transmitting and receiving antenna arrays. And all such wiring, piping, etc. can usually be just as easily abused for electronic surveillance, mind control and electronic attacks even if you turn OFF or disconnect them from their normal uses (e.g. turning Off AC power, disconnecting phones). This is nothing new - both power and phone wiring have been lawfully used for decades to carry high-band voice, control signals, and data (e.g. faxes, modems, DSL, zons, intercoms, alarm systems for phone lines, and intercoms and alarm systems for power lines) - proven technologies using common household AC wiring and phone wiring. Furthermore, because generic power and phone wiring and piping in all or part of one's home and business are often unshielded, they can be both easily accessed and connected up to AND used as a huge transmitting and/or receiving radio antennas to communicate with anything from electronic implants - to guys parked in the street - to cellphone towers down the road - to control centers 100s miles away - to ships at sea - to satellites - to electronically harass, control and/or interfere with your life! For examples: (1) Signals on them can be transmitted wireless for miles, and (2) Physical access to the wiring, piping, etc. is not even required; because the wiring, piping, etc. is unshielded, signals can often be inductively coupled into or out of power lines, phone lines, piping, etc. (e.g. inductively-coupled phone line taps are decades old technology).
       Since these virtually endless varieties of bugs, taps, harassment, control and line blaster devices can take on virtually any appearance and/or be hidden in just about anything inside of or near your building, they can be very difficult to detect through physical searches (short of tearing down all of your walls and ceilings where the lines and piping run, and disassembling all of your equipment). For example, these devices can be easily concealed inside TVs, radios, computers, landline phone equipment, etc. - fully operating even when the TV, radio, phone, etc. itself is not turned ON. Or hidden in an outlet, inside of your wall or in your attic - even inside your car. Since not all of these harmful devices are RF devices, the non-RF ones cannot be detected using TSCM field strength testing used for wireless systems. Nor can strictly receiving devices be TSCM-detected. And usually nor can transmitting devices which transmit in bursts, randomly or pre-dawn hours, nor when the perpetrator believes the area is being electronically swept and turns Off the transmitters until the TSCM crew leaves. In short, your phone and power wiring, piping, etc. can be easily and secretly tapped into using hardwired or inductive-coupling techniques just about any place they are routed internal or external to your home/business. To understand just how frustrating it is even for experts to really troubleshoot an area, rent the Gene Hackman movie, "The Conversation" - and that was early 1970s relatively crude, clunky and huge electronic surveillance systems!
       The high-band signal frequencies used on power and phone lines, piping, etc. (which can be time multiplexed and/or frequency multiplexed to support several such systems) are usually 5+ times higher than the standard 60 Hz / 50 Hz (power wiring) or 3200 Hz maximum (phone wiring) bandwidth normally used on them. The usable bandwidth of many power and phone lines exceed 2 MHz for loops up to about 6,000 ft (1.14 miles) and much higher over much shorter loops - very usable for electronic surveillance, mind control and electronic attack. Metal piping, tubing and structures can conduct signals far higher in frequency than even power and phone lines (because most power and phone lines, pipes, etc. are unshielded, electrically noisy and inductive and leaky to high freqs, most high-band signals are under 200 KHz and high in volume level). Loading these unshielded conductors with all kinds of multiplexed and high-band signals they were not designed for may cause the wiring, piping, etc. itself and their terminations to resonate with strange sounds and noises which seem to emanate from walls and ceilings often on quasi-random and directional bases (e.g. strange sounds you can hear when standing in one position but not in another position, and/or at some times and not at other times, and/or during certain conditions of humidity and/or temperature but not at other conditions), often throughout most of a building, and often similar to the vibrating and humming of an old or defective power transformer. They can also vibrate and hum in the ultrasonic and infrasonic bandwidths when signals mix and produce sum and difference frequency components. The weird sounds can also sound like a distant motor running, distant voices, whispering and mumbling, spiritual and God-like voices, high-pitched voices, low-pitched voices, chattering, music, animal sounds, whistles, echoes, pulsing, pounding, popping, finger-snapping, digital data sounds, zinging sounds, whooshing sounds, theremin sounds, etc, especially when real time complex signal mixings of possibly several signals at once result in partially demodulated and/or multiply-mixed high-band signals. These weird noises can literally drive some people nuts! If you are hearing sounds, noises or even voices or Morse-code sounding digital data signals or control signals coming from your walls, ceilings or appliances or inappropriately while you are on the phone, you may not be imagining it. Also, high frequencies imposed on power wiring can adversely affect induction motors (especially compressor motors common to refrigerators, freezers and air conditioners), causing them to operate roughly, chatter noisily and possibly stall out (because induction motor speed is proportional to the frequency of its power source, multiple frequencies can harm them), and can cause lights to unusually brighten or flicker. Modulated high frequencies on phone lines can cause malfunction of phone and computer equipment (e.g. loss of broadband sync, inability or slowdown in using DSL or even dial-up, faxes, zons, etc. because of a "noisy line").
       The WHHE1 is designed to plug directly into any 120 VAC wall outlet (3-wire or 2-wire, 60 Hz or 50 Hz) located virtually anywhere to both detect and eliminate these higher frequencies on your AC power wiring (and to also cause an improvement in your power factor if it is typically inductive or lagging power factor (PF)) (Note: If you have an intercom, digital or other communications system which uses home/business electric power wiring to transmit/receive signals, the WHHE1 will also filter out those signals if used at same time). For example, voice, data signals, and/or control signals at 10 KHz, 50 KHz, 90 KHz, .., 1890 KHz, 1930 KHz and 1970 KHz could all be frequency multiplexed onto a single 60 Hz power line simultaneously. That is, as long as a WHHE1 is not connected, because the WHHE1 wipes out all frequencies much above 60 Hz - wiping out those electronic attack and electronic surveillance high-band signals in one fell swoop! You may specify the WHHE1 to be non-battery powered (used only on powered AC lines to also power it), or battery-powered (used on both powered and unpowered AC lines). Note that the WHHE1's filtering functions cannot be duplicated using commercial power strips with built-in transient suppression. Power strips with transient suppression only filter out transients which are both high-voltage AND high-frequency, and then only for those devices connected to the power strip - not the VAC power lines connected to your AC outlets and located behind your walls in your home or business. Only the WHHE1 can filter out unwanted signals at your outlets and home/business wiring (as well as devices plugged into power strips). Even for devices plugged into transient-protected power strips, the designed protection is for transients which are both high-voltage AND high-frequency - much less effective against hitchhiking voice, control and data signals (which usually result in small RMS voltage level increases way below voltage levels required to switch in transient suppression).
       The WHHE2 is designed to plug directly into any normal landline phone line in the building, and works whether the phone is On Hook or Off Hook to eliminate higher frequencies on your phone wiring (Note: If you use DSL, modem or other digital phone line communications system, those signals will also be filtered out if used at same time). We offer 3 versions of the WHHE2: (1) WHHE2-HB: The High-Band (HB) version (the default version if you don't specify) filters out phone line freqs starting at about 4000 Hz and above. While the HB will filter out all signals at all times when toggled ON much above the normal phone voice BW of 300-3200 Hz, it will not filter out normal speech signals in the voice BW, resulting in possible but very unlikely unauthorized voice-band transmissions when phone is on-hook. (2) WHHE2-LB: The Low-Band (LB) version filters out phone line freqs starting at about 50 Hz and above. While the LB filters out voice and data signals at all times when toggled ON, it must be turned OFF when you need to talk on the phone or use it to transmit data or it will also filter out your and the other party's voices. Note that the LB version may negatively impact ring with some phones. (3) WHEE2-CMP: The Composite (CMP) version allows you to toggle between the HB and LB versions for maximum security - when you are talking on the phone, you set it at HB, when you are sending data online, you turn OFF both HB and LB, and when phone is on-hook, you set it at LB. The WHHE2 uses the common standard RJ-11 phone connector. The WHH2 always comes battery-powered.
       The WHHE3 is designed for 12VDC battery systems (e.g. vehicle battery wiring) because car battery wiring can also be - some say often - used to conduct unwanted and harmful signals which can be used for electronic surveillance, mind control and electronic attack. You can specify whether you want its cable to have cigarette lighter, battery clamp or other type of terminating connector you specify (Note: Any and all vehicle underhood connection work must be done by your automechanic at your expense and always in a legal and safe manner, and we assume no liability for the installation, removal and use of a WHHE3 device on any vehicle). You may specify the WHHE3 to be non-battery powered (used only on powered 12VDC lines to also power it), or battery-powered (used on both powered and unpowered 12VDC lines).
       The WHHE4 is designed to test in their entirety or sections of unpowered wiring, metal piping, metal tubing, metal fencing, metal structures, and other unpowered conductors up to about 25 feet long, and to filter out all signal types they may be carrying above 60 Hz. The WHHE4 can test and filter out great varieties of conductors which do or do not have known or accessible signal return paths (WHHE1, WHHE2 and WHHE3 test and protect circuits which have electrical return paths paired with them, e.g. AC power line neutral, phone Ring wire, car battery ground). The WHHE4 comes with two cables, each about 12.5 feet long, and each terminated by alligator clips (or some other type of connector you specify). One cable is connected to the unpowered metal wiring, piping, tubing, fencing, structure, etc. If this metal is accompanied by an accessible metal electrical return path (e.g. wire, piping, tubing, fencing, structure, etc.), the other cable is connected to it, else other cable is connected to grounded metal, in which case an earth ground rod may be required (earth ground rod not provided, available in hardware stores). The WHH4 always comes battery-powered. Note: Not all plumbing or tubing (or fencing or structures) is continuous metal all the way into a good earth ground. Sometimes plastic plumbing is used, which breaks any ground connection. Even if the plumbing pipe is continuous metal all the way to where buried in earth, pipe joints can be corroded enough or use enough teflon tape to break the electrical connection, the pipe can be laid in dry ground or concrete, and/or the pipe itself can be corroded enough to break its ground connection. In fact, plumbing pipe is never a reliable earth ground. National Electrical Code: 'True earth ground physically consists of a conductive rod or pipe driven into the earth to a minimum depth of 8 feet.' Plumbing pipe is never "driven into the earth" and plumbing, tubing, fencing and structures are seldom buried at least 8 feet deep. If unpowered metal is not itself solidly grounded to earth (easily determined) - not just wet-season or intermittently grounded - it makes a great conductor for electronic signals.
       The WHHE devices come with a signal indicator LED and the DETECT/PROTECT toggle switch. One toggled position is the DETECT Mode in which the LED will flicker and/or brighten if there is a high-band signal on the line, piping, etc. The other toggled position is the PROTECT Mode which will filter out all types of high-band signals, transients and line noise interference hitchhiking signals to remove them from your line, piping, etc. The DETECT Mode continuously tests your conductor to determine if there is any unusual signal or other electrical activity on it. The toggle switch is especially protected with a snubber circuit designed to prevent contact arcing during switches. If the WHHE device conflicts with some other known and OK equipment or function connected to your wiring in the PROTECT Mode, then don't operate that WHHE in its PROTECT Mode when using such equipment or function (no known interferences in the DETECT Mode).
       Plus WHHE devices are designed to further protect your lines from possibly destructive high-voltage pulses, transients and line noise which can sometimes also occur, whether natural or manmade (e.g. helps protect you from a perpetrator trying to wreck your phone or power system - even your computer - using a phone or power line blaster to deliver high-voltage transients, pulses and electrical noise to your system and equipment; and helps protect lines and equipment against damage caused by nearby lightning strike or transients, pulses and line noise). (Note that while electronic filters may eliminate 99.9+% of a signal - so much of the signal that the tiny remaining signal is lost in the line noise - no electronic filter wipes out absolutely 100% of a signal; always experiment with WHHE device first to make sure that it does not interfere with the normal use of your lines and equipment.). This very substantial added transient protection includes a gas discharge lightning arrestor (surge arrestor - not normally found even in expensive transient-suppressed power strips), a MOV (varistor), and the filter capacitor itself - all of which adds substantial protection from lightning strikes, line blasters, and powerful pulsed mind control and electronic attack devices hitchhiked onto your lines, piping, etc.
         Plus WHHE devices come with an output connector which permits you to directly view hitchhiking signals on an oscilloscope or hear them on a speaker or earphones (if signal is in the audio band; oscilloscope, speaker and earphones are not included). By being able to observe and/or hear the signals which should not be on your line, piping, etc, you can often tell exactly what is being communicated or controlled, and correlate the hitchhiking signals with conversations, other activities, and unexplained manifestations.
       Note that since most home and office electric power systems are 220-240 VAC and standard outlet wiring is 110-120 VAC, there are two isolated AC power "legs" that power the various 110-120 VAC outlets and functions throughout the building. Therefore, to simultaneously and continuously DETECT and PROTECT both AC power legs, you need two WHHE1 devices. Also note that if your landline phone system has more than one phone line, each phone line is isolated from each other, so therefore to simultaneously and continuously DETECT and PROTECT all phone lines, you need a WHHE2 for each and every phone line. If you are being electronically attacked, electronically harassed, electronically controlled, electronically tracked, and/or electronically surveilled through some wireless means, the signal is either electromagnetic (EM) or ultrasonic (see below) in nature. There are all kinds of commercial EM scanners which will allow you to scan for the presence of EM signals. However, they almost never come with directional antennas (they usually have only an omnidirectional whip antenna) so that while using the whip antenna you can pick up EM signals and display the strongest EM signal coming to you from any direction, they cannot determine signal direction - only signal frequency and signal strength. And there are lists of combination lock combinations based on lock makes, models and serial numbers so even the most rugged combination lock may not be trustworthy!

And some items which seals should protect come with locks so flimsy and easy to pick or bypass that these locks result in virtually zero security and safety (e.g. suitcases, brief cases, valises, purses, jewelry boxes, cash boxes, etc.). Because all locks can be opened with a duplicate key / combination and most can be picked open by someone with rudimentary locksmith skills and locksmith tools, in reality, locks offer very little real protection from persons making secret entries into "protected" areas or items. Locks in these situations provide only a costly false sense of security. The fact is NO MATTER HOW EXPENSIVE AND HIGH-QUALITY A LOCK IS, YOU CAN NEVER BE CERTAIN THAT THE LOCK WAS NOT COMPROMISED - UNLESS YOU USE IT WITH A SECURITY SEAL like these security/safety seals! Even if the criminal must cut the lock or jimmy the lock (e.g. most padlocks) to gain entry, the lock serves then only as a very expensive seal.

In many jurisdictions, the unauthorized breaking of a security seal or safety seal is both a criminal offense and a tort, thereby giving you extra layers of legal protection than just locks by themselves (We are not an attorney so check for yourself for your jurisdiction). If the lock is picked or opened with a key/combination, it is much more difficult to prove that you have been pilfered from, contaminated or compromised (e.g. identity theft, stolen money, stolen other unidentifiable valuables). The replacement cost for each seal is about as much as a tie-wrap of about the same dimensions - so inexpensive that cutting the seal to get to your protected item is a tiny cost compared to the peace of mind the seal gives you. (NOTE: Tie wraps are not a substitute for these seals because tie-wraps (and cheap locks) can be easily picked open using an Xacto knife, paper clip or small screwdriver and then re-applied without a noticeable difference, tie-wraps are not uniquely numbered and therefore cannot be tracked, documented or likely used as evidence in a claim, and cut tie-wraps can be easily replaced by a look-alike).

Today, when you are away from your home, job or business, virtually anything is possible! And of course the seals can also be used for many of the general uses that plastic tie-wraps are now used for (e.g. they are just the right size for bundling power cords and computer cords).

These seals have practically unlimited other uses, not all security or safety related. Some examples:

To identify and keep track of the location of things for inhouse uses, such as company tools, equipment, materials and supplies distributed to employees and contractors or out on site, and to quickly identify and keep track of your items in situations, for example, where there are multiple employees or contractors on one site.

These high-quality, well-manufactured, rugged aluminum or steel industrial-grade 9 VDC battery (9V radio battery) clips/holders, while originally not designed to hold batteries but for a different use, these clips securely and snugly hold 9-volt batteries into place. We use a ton of these highly versatile 9V battery holders / 9V battery clips in electronic equipment we build, often to replace existing 9VDC battery holders / 9VDC battery clips in equipment used in our electronic laboratories and shops, and for a very wide variety of other holding, securing, hanging, guide, joining applications for the many other parts, tools, prototype boards, rods, small pipes and cabling which conveniently fit into them.

These 9-volt battery clips can mount batteries in any orientation, and adapt to all kinds of battery clip mounting constraints found in equipment: They can be mounted in any of the 3 axes, and they can hold the battery or other part either on its side or its end. There is a bottom tab in the middle of both sides of the holder, about 1/2" x 1/2" each. Either or both of these tabs can be drilled or punched for a mounting screw or pop rivet hole to mount them on the side or bottom of a project box. And either or both tabs or sides can also be bent out at 90 degrees for flat mounting on the side or bottom of a chassis. And either or both tabs or sides can be sawed off or even broken off with pliers (by bending the tabs up and down several times to induce metal fatigue). The battery clip center or ends can also be punched or drilled for mounting a pop rivet or screw to mount it without the tabs. Or the battery holder can be simply cemented into place or tied in place using tiewrap.

By squeezing in the holder/clip sides, you can considerably stiffen the grip on the battery or other part to prevent it from falling out under even rugged handling of your enclosure (we even mounted one as a test to the underside of a car and it kept the battery in place for 6 months until we removed it); and by pulling the sides slightly more apart, you can considerably loosen the grip on the battery or other part for more easy placement of it. Changing the distances between the sides also allows the clip to be used with parts of varying sizes and shapes. For thinner items, you can use wood, plastic, rubber or cardstock spacers to help secure electronic parts and other parts using these holders. And for thicker items, you can cut off or bend away one side of each of two holders, and then space the holders apart the right distance to accommodate the thicker item.

These holders are so versatile, you should keep at least several in each of your work areas. Aside from holding not only batteries but numerous other small parts, two or more can be used to securely hold, separate and/or route long items, like rods, pipes, tubing, cabling and wiring. And they can be easily used to secure adjacent flat items together in several ways. They are very versatile for many, many uses.

Battery and battery terminals (i.e. battery connectors) are not included.
