New. You cannot adequately measure ultrasonic frequencies unless you have a special amplifier which will amplify electronic signals in the ultrasound bandwidth (BW). Even the highest quality, most expensive audio amplifiers don't amplify signals much above 20 KHz (the human upper hearing limit) - they cannot amplify ultrasonic BW signals so are useless for ultrasonic detection purposes such as ultrasonic attack, ultrasonic mind control, ultrasonic communications, outputs of ultrasonic equipment (such as pest controllers / animal controllers, ultrasonic cleaning tools, ultrasonic welding, ultrasonic distance measuring, natural ultrasonic phenomena (e.g. bats, insects, etc.) or any other ultrasonic signals), or high-frequency sonar or high-frequency electric fields, magnetic fields or electromagnetic fields. While oscilloscopes and spectrum analyzers will display very low intensity ultrasonic BW signals that come directly from an ultrasonic transducer, because some ultrasonic signals are extremely weak (microvolts), only the most expensive scopes will amplify them enough for decent viewing or analysis (and these usually require 1X probes). For most oscilloscopes and spectrum analyzers, you need an external ultrasonic BW amplifier to provide adequate signal boosting if you want to view ultrasonic signals more than 1 cm peak-to-peak on the scope or spectrum analyzer display. Furthermore, since scopes are wideband, they will amplify and display all detected signals throughout their entire huge signal bandwidth. Thus, noise frequencies both below and above the ultrasound BW will also be amplified and displayed along with the ultrasonic BW frequencies (e.g. 60 Hz electrical power interference), thus making viewing and analysis of the ultrasonic frequencies on a commercial scope garbled up with all of the noise without an ultrasonic amplifier in between much more difficult and sometimes virtually impossible. And unamplified ultrasonic BW signals are useless for any direct application of these signals.

Proper TDCS requires current accuracy, constancy and repeatability - you need to accurately set a constant current level and session duration. For current level to be constant and repeatable during TDCS sessions, which it must be for best results, you need the current from a CONSTANT CURRENT GENERATOR - not a voltage regulator found in virtually all power supplies (including batteries and wall adapters). Since the conductivity of the skin changes with time, skin contact with the electrode pads, and even with the smallest movements, current from a voltage regulator will fluctuate, sometimes wildly, intermittently and unpredictably. Also, 9VDC is almost always too small to deliver even 1 ma of current under most conditions. However, under certain conditions, a 9VDC battery can deliver far too much current - so much current that near electroshock conditions may result. Also, progressively ramping voltage up and then later down, as opposed to suddenly turning the voltage ON and OFF (which occurs when you flip a switch connected to a battery or wall adapter or abruptly remove contact with a battery terminal), is critical to prevent voltage transients, which can interfere with beneficial effects of TDCS, and may be painful. Don't use a 9VDC battery hook-up to do your TDCS!

There is a recent resurgence of interest in therapeutic modalities, including TDCS, as a means to experimentally modify and study brain function, and possibly to improve or treat mental conditions of many different types. The TDCS theory of operation is that the current density at the neuron level primes the neuron to be either more excited or less excited than usual. TDCS plus current theoretically provides a positive bias to the nerve synapses through the dendrites making them more sensitive and excitable, thereby creating a heightened sensitivity to other stimuli to cause neurons to fire more easily from even minor stimulation. However, when negative current is applied to the dendrites, a negative bias occurs, making the neurons more difficult to fire from other stimuli, the effect is to inhibit or suppress nerve firing even from major stimulation.

TDCS is a particularly attractive electrotherapy option because it is a relatively benign (low risk and few and minor side effects), efficient and affordable treatment modality that requires no drugs. TDCS is an effective method to stimulate areas on the brain's outer layer (the neocortex) selectively with a small amount of electrical current applied to the skull just about the cortex area to be stimulated. With TDCS technology, you basically place and secure (using an elastic band or hair net) two electrodes on your head which are connected to a constant current generator. TDCS typically consists of five 20-minute sessions (one per day for a week), which may be repeated. TDCS can produce positive after-effects which can last many hours - even days, weeks and months. SIDE EFFECTS OF TDCS: The reported side effects of TDCS, aside from a slight itching or tingling sensation under the electrodes when current is first applied, are few and almost always minor. In fact, in 70% of subjects studied in various studies (not ours), the subjects could not detect when they were being stimulated. In those cases where subjects could detect stimulation, in most cases they felt minor itching and tingling underneath the electrodes at the onset of the session. Fatigue, nausea, slight-to-modest skin irritation, pain or headache, and insomnia have also been reported as side effects, but are relatively rare. TDCS should never be applied for durations more than 30 minutes or using currents in excess of 10 ma. Semi-permanent or even permanent after-effects can occur for TDCS durations of more than 9 minutes. The long term after-effects and possible side effects of TDCS are not fully known.

Have you ever tried to track down low, fleeting, distant and/or faint sounds, but frustratingly not being able to hear them well enough or react fast enough to catch them or to determine their locations or identities? Or hired expensive "surveillance experts," "bug-sweepers" or "ghost busters" with same zero results or a bunch of BS? Do you already have an alarm system, but it sounds so softly and/or briefly that you can miss it - especially when you are distracted, asleep or even a short distance from the alarm?            HSA DETECTS CRITICAL LOW-VOLUME, SHORT DURATION BEEPS FROM OTHER ALARM SYSTEMS: Are you missing sounds from alarms or alerts which are so weak and/or short duration that you are distracted or sleep through them? Bothered by strange sounds / weird sounds which seem to come at random or odd times, especially while you are asleep? Unfortunately, many critical alarm systems put out a few faint beeps and then shut off - critical beeps you can easily miss because you are soundly asleep, temporarily out of the area or distracted by other noises and activities. Need to detect water leaks or overflows in your buried plumbing, walls, ceilings and floors, and through soil, concrete slabs, asphalt, wallboard, ceiling tiles, floor tiles, carpets, wood, plastic and other materials? The HSA can be used to non-destructively pinpoint the locations of underground water leaks and ceiling, floor and wall water leaks (water lines, sprinkler systems, faucets and other valves, hydrants, swimming pools and water tanks). Water leaking under pressure usually makes spurting, spraying, gurgling or PSSS-type sounds, such low-intensity buried sounds usually cannot be heard by the naked ear - especially when your ears are 5+ feet off the ground, which the HSA serves as an excellent hydrophone. Air leaks, gas leaks, fuel leaks and chemical leaks can make similar faint but distinctive sounds which the HSA can also detect. Many plumbers and equipment rental places do not have leak pinpointing devices, and plumbers which do virtually never rent them out, and charge you $200 - $300 EACH TIME they use them on your property (some double the price if they find a leak and you do not hire them to make the repairs). If you can't pinpoint your leak in a yard line, building line or valve, you may be forced to replace the entire line at huge expense, not to mention the extra expense of removing the debris from the torn up area, repairing it, and suffering a loss on your property because it now will likely be heavily scarred due to replacing the entire line. However, if the HSA can pinpoint your leak, you can usually restrict your repairs just to that small area at much less cost and damage. For leak detection, contract for The Entire Audio Band Version of the HSA with the Delux Water Leak Detection Mike. The Delux Water Leak Detection Mike is a mike consisting of a long padded cone (to concentrate leak sounds) attached to a three-foot plastic tube handle - an electronic stethoscope. You place the cone on the surface in various places as you walk along the line's route, and listen for distinctive leak sounds, where the sounds are loudest usually indicates exact location of leak. The Delux Water Leak Detection Mike also works great as a long distance surveillance mike, but is not sold for that purpose. In addition, also consider getting the Long-Reach Mike, which is a mike in a five-foot thin plastic tube handle which can reach deep into small spaces and pipes, and which usually much enhances received leak sounds when inserted into a steel pipe driven into the ground near the leak.
               Note that another very effective way to detect and locate water leaks is by using the soil conductivity method of our less expensive Ultimo Water Leak Detector & Locator, described on our misc-electronics.htm webpage, and pinpointing water leaks by detecting dips in soil resistance due to the water leak wetting the soil (not effective for air leaks, gas leaks, fuel leaks or chemical leaks, or water not leaking into soil). Since soil and water leak conditions vary widely, and one may work better than the other to detect your water leaks, you ideally should have both the HSA and the UWLD&L on hand to detect water leaks.
           Note 1: Since we do not have control over your soil and leak conditions (both of which can be highly variable and complex situations) nor how you will use this device, we cannot guarantee the HSA will pinpoint your water leaks, and we assume no liability for false positives, false negatives, locating or failure to locate a water leak that caused or will cause damages, failure to identify the exact location of a water leak, or for anything else related to your use or abuse of the HSA device or your leak problems.            HSA FEATURES: The HSA is simple and easy to operate and comes with the HSA Module, the Hypersensitive Mike, the buzzer sounder, quality headphones, AC power adapter (for AC power operation), two new 9VDC alkaline batteries (portable DC operation), cabling, and user manual. The HSA Module comes with a Sensitivity Pot so that you can set the sensitivity (i.e. input gain) from high sensitivity to ultra high sensitivity, a Duration Pot to set the duration of the alarm signal, and an output Alarm Volume Pot to control alarm loudness. In addition to a powerful beeper, the HSA also has a LED which also lights when the alarm is activated, even if you disconnect the beeper for silent indication. The HSA also comes with an output port where you can listen to and/or record the filtered highly-amplified sound (if in the audio band) and/or view the detected signal on an oscilloscope. If you need remote monitoring (e.g. the people doing the monitoring are in a different area or office than the HSA), you can easily use the HSA in conjunction with a wireless baby monitor, home watch / home alarm system, internet monitoring system / internet surveillance system, real time spy camera, or some other applicable legal transmitter/receiver system (the HSA neither includes any of these extra systems, nor interfaces to them, nor any recorder, oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, etc.).
           The HSA has two modalities of operation: (1) Feedback Modality, and (2) Non-Feedback Modality. In the Feedback Modality, the alarm signal is also fed back into the sound detection circuitry, which continuously retriggers the alarm until you shut off power to it. In the Non-Feedback Modality, the alarm signal is not fed back, in which case, the alarm activates for periods primarily set by the Duration Pot.
           The highly-directional mike is almost always required to determine actual sound directions - often critically important to determining sound origins with minimal false alarms, and thus determining what or who is making the sounds. By also selecting the band where your sounds of interest lay in, you can also greatly minimize false alarms by isolating your specific sounds of interest - especially useful where and when they are buried in much ambient noise and/or are remote or distant.
           If ultrasonics is important to you, we also do ultrasonic HSA device types. Don't be fooled by similar devices which can't perform above 40 KHz. We also offer HSA infrasonic versions (i.e. sounds below 20 Hz), but because infrasound is spread out and infrasound direction is usually not detectable using electronic detectors, the mike provided is built-in and much more omnidirectional.
           Note that for all critical uses of the very versatile HSA, be sure to repeatedly test it in non-critical situations as similar as possible to your actual critical use, and then use the HSA as a backup system to any existing system you may have to alert you. Most important are the, (1) Adjustment for input sound amplification (multiturn Sensitivity Pot) to maximize true positive indications while minimizing false indications, (2) Pointing of the directional mike so that you maximize sensitivity in the direction that the sound of interest comes from, and (3) Setting of the output sound level so that you will be reliably alerted while not disturbing others not wanting to be disturbed. As with all of our devices, we are not licensed medical personnel, so we never make medical claims or provide medical advice or medical opinion.
           The HSA is the absolute ultimate in low and short-duration sound detection capabilities! We believe that the Galvanic Skin Response (GSR) is a good indication of anomalies that reside beneath the skin where the galvanic skin response is taken from, and that galvanic skin responses will be very close to each other when the taken on two corresponding positions on symmetrical parts of the body of a healthy person. This 2,996 gram (6.6 lb) rock was found near Alamogordo, New Mexico, International Space Hall of Fame several years ago. Rock was found in the desert, not near any known volcanic activity, iron or nickel mining operations, industrial operations, smelters or roads big enough for a vehicle. Shown is a 5 lb pull magnet magnetically stuck to it. Volume was determined by the Archimedes water displacement method. Density is 3.35 g/cm3 (2,996g/895cm3) - within the density range that iron meteorites fall into. Streak tests with ceramic tile reveals no marks on the tile, therefore, rock is not likely magnetite and not hematite. Since this rock is strongly attracted to a magnet, it must contain iron, nickel, cobalt and/or gadolinium. Chunks of stone materials are observed to be part of the rock's matrix, which would not be expected in a smelter operation.

Our rock looks very closely like many of the meteorites we have seen sold Online and in rock shops and museums. While all of these facts strongly suggest that it is a meteorite, we have not yet had it analyzed or dated to conclusively prove that it is a meteorite. Great as a motor stator (especially for spindle motors, servo motors and stepper motors), to create rotating magnetic fields, and for science projects. In fact, these were salvaged from the spindle motor of a new very high quality but obsolete floppy disk drive (few floppy disk drives have a coil arrangement like this). Coil board measure 3" x 3-1/2". Coil center-to-coil center spacing is 1-1/2". We don't know who makes this board. The IC is a BA6492FS, FDD Spindle Motor Driver IC for 3-phase, full-wave, soft switching motors. They are a small 20mm (2 cm) in diameter and 3 mm thick. They are 110 ohms, 2mH. Images were taken under my 10X microscope which field was too small to capture all of the ultrasonic speaker with one shot, and we wanted to also show their really nice gold-plated speaker contacts. These magnetic transducers / magnetic probes / magnetic electrodes / magnetic field probes / brainwave electrodes / brain probes can be used for both detecting/receiving and transmitting magnetic fields and as a small electromagnets, depending upon the piece of equipment it is connected to (under 250ma current). Originally bought for brainwave research, these magnetic transducers can be used for many applications, including but not limited to, brainwave detection, other psychic and paranormal research, other medical/biomedical research, small magnetic field detection, small metal detection, bug detection/tap detection (as well as bugging and tapping), some implant detection, isolated communications, material flaw detection, magnetic therapies, magnetic stimulations, magnetic key decoding, to measure relative motion of conductive objects (especially iron or steel, e.g. tachometer), etc. These magnetic probes are also ideal for many magnetometer and field-strength meter devices and uses.

Cable length is 6-foot and is of a very high quality and pliable coaxial cable (coaxial cabling is required to absolutely minimize electrical noise pick-up). These magnetic transducers are about 1/4" diameter and about 1/2" long - an incredible 12 mH inductance, 25 ohm, for their small size. On the other end is connected a mini-phone plug (we also have a few each with RCA plug, sub-mini phone plug and spade lugs, so if you need one of these, let us know). These magnetic transducers will both receive and transmit magnetic energy from about 0.2 Hz to about 300 KHz pulse, modulated and sinewave signals - covering the entire audio frequency bandwidth (BW), as well as most of the infrasonic BW and air ultrasonic BW.

When used in conjunction with a commercially-available audio amplifier or recorder, these magnetic transducers should be wired in as a dynamic microphone. Both infrasonic amplifiers and ultrasonic amplifiers are also available from us.

For use with living tissues (plant or animal), penetration or even direct contact to surface is not required, however, contact should be as close to surface as possible as air gaps diminish effectiveness. This means that these magnetic probes are non-invasive, and one does not have to use a gel, shave the area, touch the skin or other surface, or suffer electrode irritation (common to skin contact and invasive electrodes) to effectively use it. And that these magnetic probes can be effectively used over most light clothing and plastic wrap. As with all magnetic transducers, especially those used for sensitive or precision magnetic detection jobs, the magnetic transducer should be held as steadily as possible. This can be done using a steady hand, rubber bands, velcro or shower cap with a hole in it to pass the cable or tape (none of these are provided). For permanent use and non-living area contact, you might also consider using a cement, glue or other firm adhesive to attach the transducer rock-solid to the surface.

The SUPER SOFT-PINCH ELECTRODES (SSPE) are a very special non-invasive external electrode pair (non-invasive electrodes) which gently, yet securely, pinches onto fingers, toes, ears, nose, loose skin, plant parts, rough and uneven surfaces, etc., and do not require any skin penetration, gel, saline solution, pad, tape or elastic band to work. The Soft-Pinch Electrodes are very versatile spring-operated and bifurcated on both sides (2-tine fork-like). Because these electrodes are bifurcated, other electrodes can be connected to them in series or even groups if you wish using screws. Can be used as experimental and monitoring radionic electrodes, biomedical electrodes (bio electrodes), biofeedback electrodes (BF electrodes), paranormal electrodes, electronic attack electrodes, mind control electrodes, etc. Can be used on people, animals, plants, and even inert objects. The spring-operated biomedical electrode is made of steel (copper-like color in images is artifact of photo under-exposure - SSPE biomedical electrodes are bright, shiny steel). These electrodes are about 2" long, 3/16" wide, bifurcated at its business end, and are reinforced to the cable with a sheath of about 2" of durable plastic for many years of reliable service.

The bifurcated electrode is far superior in versatility and usefulness than the common single-end electrode because: (1) It permits better gripping and contact on uneven surfaces and soft surfaces for the same pressure, (2) It allows for more accurate spot check readings taken between the bioelectric electrode tynes (e.g. connecting up an oscilloscope or meter directly to the electrode in situ; oscilloscope and meter not included), (3) It allows for the interleaving of two biomedical electrodes (e.g. while one electrode transmits a signal to the subject, the other electrode monitors the signal within a fraction of an inch from each other), and (4) Other electrodes of various types, connectors and devices (and more than one at the same time) can be screwed directly to the electrode through the slot between the tynes.

On the other end of the SSPE electrode cable is terminated by your choice of end connector: BNC, banana plugs, pin plugs, spade lugs, "eye" lugs, alligator clips, bare wire, etc., (lugs are assumed if you don't specify). This end connector is generally connected to the equipment using a screw (screws sizes up to #8), and is plated for optimum conductivity. This connector end is also reinforced to the cable with a sheath of durable plastic for maximum electrode life time.

After many 100s of hours of testing SSPE biomedical electrodes, including some high voltage and dry outdoors uses, we have found them to be very useful, reliable and versatile, and have not broken one yet. The SSPE biomedical electrode cabling is very resilient to aging, cracking, dirt, grime, grease, oils, salt water, light acids, light alkalies, solvents, current leaks, shorts, arcing over, high and low temperature, and high and low humidity. Unlike the typical button electrode, this biomedical electrode is not designed to passively lay flat on the surface it is to be used on, but to be attached using its gentle clamping action, and therefore it can be attached, removed and moved around quickly and dynamically should you choose to do so. Galvanic Skin Response Meter (GSR Meter), Model 5818 Plus pair of Soft-Pinch Electrodes. Galvanic skin response (GSR) metering is an excellent way to do biofeedback, relaxation and therapy. And it is also a great biomedical research tool. GSR meter is a known excellent indicator of stress levels (e.g. used in polygraphs / lie detectors), therefore, by training yourself using biofeedback to reduce your GSR, you should also be able to relax better and reduce your stress levels, and thereby hopefully live a longer, happier and healthier life. The included soft-pinch electrodes are non-invasive and hold onto the attached surface with light force (no tape or cement is required). We found that this great GSR meter provided us so much information about my physical self and was so useful in helping us better relax that we designed as part of a Lone Star Consulting, Inc. Electronic biofeedback thermometer is portable and battery-operated. Generally employed for biofeedback, relaxation and stress reduction, and in mind control and brainwave entrainment research. It is 10.5" x 8" x 4.5", and built into a strong case, with a big easy-to-read meter. COMES WITH PROBES AND MANUAL. The two big, Eveready Energizer No. 266 (Neda 1605) 9-volt batteries it came with are depleted. We do not have replacements for these batteries; however, the power connectors to the system can be easily re-wired for the 9-volt radio batteries and 9-volt DC power adapters commonly used today. We did not make this change because vintage equipment collectors prefer that such rare, vintage equipment be left as much in its original condition as possible, and new or rechargeable No. 266 batteries may be still available somewhere. POWERFUL MIRRORED MULTI-COLORED STROBE / LASER
(MULTI-COLOR STROBOSCOPE) - SCIENTIFIC/INDUSTRIAL

Used and in good functioning condition. This laser/strobe is in a heavy duty steel chassis case, similar to the types of chassis and cases that HP and Tektronix builds their very high quality electronic test equipment into. The device is not labeled (no boilerplate), and we don't know who makes it or for what purposes it was made (when we bought it a few years ago, we were told that it originally came from Sandia Labs and used for multi-color laser applications like holography, but we can't verify this). We have had limited uses for it.

We do know that the device works fine, and produces a series of extremely brilliant pulsed lights. By adjusting the flash speed way down, it appears to us that red, green and blue flashes occur successively. This device contains what looks like to us three very expensive light sources of different colors and a set up of various mirrors, glass plates that allow half of the light to go through and half to be reflected (half-silvered, filters?), and lenses. It has a standard SCSI connector in the back. We have no documentation on it, and we don't know the pin-out of the SCSI, but more than likely, it was for a computer hook-up. Not shown but on center of the bottom of the device is a sturdy steel plate screwed in with a threaded hole, apparently so the device could easily be mounted on a photographic tripod. It is 15.75" x 7" x 5.5".

The first image set is of a photo taken from the front while the device was operating, and photos of the front and back of the device when it was turned Off. The second image is a photo of the device taken while operating, in the dark, and with my camera flash Off. The third image set is a photo from each side of the lamp/mirror area with device Off to try to show the arrangement of the lamps and glass plates. The fourth image set is a photo top view of the device Off, and a photo top view with of the device with its cover in place.

Strobes have many uses, not the least of which is for dances and discos, for timing, for setting and determining rotational speeds and linear velocities, as a self-defense and anti-burglary device, in video, photography and holography, for special effects, for signaling and rudimentary communications, in biomedical research, and in mind control, electronic attack, brain entrainment and biofeedback research. In very good condition. Please do not stare into this light - it is very brilliant, and could cause eye problems. It makes for one spectacular light show!

RARE, VERSATILE STEEL LABORATORY DEVICE

(Sorry, we are sold out of this Vacuum Chamber, we are trying to get more). Used and in good condition. Some external surface rust and discoloration. Rare, perhaps unique, versatile steel laboratory device. Can be used as a vacuum chamber, pressure cooker, distiller, mixing chamber, processing chamber, autoclave, etc. We bought it used, and have no idea what the original purpose or design of this device was, but whatever it was, it is certainly modifiable for other uses. The metal tube extending from the bottom is hollow, so probably used to remove or insert container contents. In bottom, right hand image, the inside of the bottom part appears to be brownish - it is not brownish (or dirty or rusty) but image color is a photo effect - its coloration is shiny metal about the same as the inside of the top part in that image. There is a fine mesh screen at the bottom (which contributes to its brownish appearance) which can be removed. The left image shows a height-adjustable 2-5/8" diameter platform, which can be used to hold a bunsen burner, flask, chemical container, reservoir, etc., depending on your application. The screw press on the top plus the bayonet-type locking mechanism at the bottom tightly secures the container parts together and to the frame for great resistance against both high pressures and low pressures. Standard plumbing fitting at the top of the top part lets you connect up a hose and/or pressure meter (hose and pressure meter not included). This chemical laboratory device is 19" high, 5-1/2" wide (across frame), 7-3/4" wide across base. Gap in frame is 4-9/16" wide. Each frame part is 1-1/2" wide, and about 1/2" thick. Pressure rating is unknown.

Mint condition with no evidence of use we can find. We bought this at an estate sale where the family described it as a, "cryogenics cylinder." They did not know specific function or manufacture. We know little about cryogenics. Base diameter is 5.75". It is 7.25" tall with the base, and 7" tall without the base (i.e. just the cylinder). Cylinder outer diameter is 4", and its chamber opening is 3.75" diameter, 4.25" deep. On top are two 1" high ports, 1" outer diameter, 3/4" inner diameter (opening), non-threaded, spaced 2.625" apart (center-to-center). One port is bevelled at the top, the other is flat at the top. The bevelled-opening port extends into the chamber 1.375" deep as an aluminum tube, and opens into the chamber with a hole on side of this tube. The flat-opening port opens into some kind of "attic" above the chamber, which opens into the chamber with a port about 1" in diameter covered with a very fine mesh. Cylinder press fits into the base (no threads).

CARBON COMPOSITE CONE FORM / CONE SHAPE

This looks new but we can't tell for sure. Heavy, very hard, and apparently a 100% carbon composite cone form, apparently precision-machined and not cast. We can barely scratch it with a sharp X-Acto knife. Actual weight is 1.5 lbs and feels very solid. Base is 6.5" diameter, and it is about 3" tall. Undersided (not shown) is hollow in the cone area, about 2" deep to tip of cone, making the cone surface itself probably about 1" thick. Base "ring" is solid 1.25" wide all around and 1" tall. Material is an electrical insulator material and not magnetic. This is definitely some kind of industrial, scientific or laboratory type cone form. Can be used as a form for shaping, as some kind of mount or mold form, for scientific experiments and science fairs, to launch experimental rockets from, for various crafts, general shop uses, display uses, as part of a mold for casting, and as a cover of some type - many possible different uses. We collect weird scientific and electronic devices, and this is the first one of these we 've ever run into. Do you know what it is? This is apparently one of those kinds of things that when you need one, they are almost impossible to find and nothing else will do.

Inductance is tunable from about 3mH to about 7.5mH (nominally set at about 5mH).
